What used to be in the place of the psebay. Psebay is a village surrounded by nature in the Mostovsky district

A safe haven for the spoiled tourist

Very unusual place for recreation, we chose for the May holidays - the village of Psebay. I wanted to have a budget vacation in the Krasnodar Territory ... We heard from friends and relatives that there are hot springs in the Krasnodar Territory in the Mostovsky District, we looked at the location on the map. It turned out that nearby in the Mostovsky district there is the village of Psebay, where it is located. Unfortunately, we could not find on the Internet sites of other places where you could stay.

Psebay is an urban-type settlement in the Mostovsky District of the Krasnodar Territory of Russia.

How to get to Psebay

We drove by car from Rostov-on-Don along the M4 Don highway, then along the R-217 road Tikhoretsk - Kropotkin - Armavir - Labinsk - Mostovskoy - Psebay. The whole journey took about 5.5 hours.

The village of Psebay is quite small in size and population (about 10 thousand people in 2010). Psebay is located in a valley in the foothills of the Caucasus, between mountain peaks along the Malaya Laba River. The road from Psebay to the south rests on the mountains of the Caucasian Natural Biosphere Reserve.

The Caucasian Nature Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In the village of Psebay there is a plant for the production of gypsum - "Kuban gypsum - KNAUF". We ourselves personally climbed the tops of the mountains and saw how the equipment works. This is probably the only place in the village that provides work local population. It's a pity that the Knauf brand is not Russian. As our guide in the USSR told, it was a completely Soviet plant, and after the collapse, the Germans came, bought it, and took it into circulation. Well, what to do.

The unusual geographical location makes this place amazing. A fast mountain river, gypsum rocks of the slopes, caves and arches, waterfalls, springs with clean drinking water, golden sand from mica and shell rock, unusually rich vegetation - all this is wonderfully intertwined here, in one place. For those who like outdoor activities, I certainly recommend visiting here, because. there are a lot of places to go.

The area of the village of Psebay in terms of Russian tourism is very promising and diverse. I would even say unusual, with its amazing beauty, purity, simplicity. There are no equipped places for hiking, only slightly trampled paths that are either lost in the grass or appear again. Marks on the trees, meaning hiking trails, and nothing else ... Real wildlife, with its unpredictability and mystery.

In addition to the traditional hiking tourism for these places, cycling tourism is developed here. There are active bicycle routes on the Gerpegem ridge, by the way, they also ride quad bikes there. The fast mountain river is just made for. And someone will definitely like the rocks and caves for rock climbing.

Excursions, routes in Psebay, waterfalls

We rested in Psebay for 6 days. But since the weather was not always favorable, we visited only a small part of the protected nearby places. Wet weather, washed out roads, slippery hiking trails, and, perhaps, our unpreparedness for extreme tourist hikes, did not allow us to go down to the Gunkiny caves and the Dedova Yama cave, as well as to see the Kyzylbek waterfalls and salty mineral springs in the village of Salt. But what a reason to come back here again.

  • Kapustinsky waterfall;
  • Nikiteno village and Nikitinsky waterfall;
  • Thermal springs of Mostovsky district;
  • Suspension bridge;
  • Rock "White Widow";
  • Waterfall "Desires";
  • Gerpegem Ridge;
  • Silver spring;
  • Bank of the Malaya Laba river.

Some of the routes were on foot. Together with a guide (a kind, glorious uncle), we went around all the neighborhoods of the Beryozki sanatorium on foot. We were introduced to the local landscapes and nature. We visited many places on our own, despite the fact that it was not so easy to find them.

Experienced tourists will be interested in a 5-7 day hike along the famous route "Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana". But this is a very serious journey and you will not be allowed to go there just like that. To obtain a permit and a pass for a hike, go to the office of the Northern Department of the Caucasian Reserve in Psebay or to the frontier post. This is where the paperwork will be done.

Flora of Psebaya

Walking through the meadows and forests in the village of Psebay and Nikitino, you can see many beautiful and unusual plants. And the time at which we came to rest in Psebay (early May) showed us the flowering of many plants. Small mountain iris, lilies of the valley, wild strawberries, sage, mint, wild garlic and many more incomprehensible, but beautiful plants that form a flowering and smelling carpet on the ground.

For the first time in my life, I saw mountain iris blooming. The lily of the valley is listed in the Red Book of Russia, but in Psebay the lily of the valley is not uncommon.

What to bring from Psebay as a keepsake

In addition to all sorts of standard souvenirs: magnets and paintings, in Psebay you can buy meadow honey, mountain tea, souvenirs and jewelry made from rocks. We also brought water from the Silver Spring, a piece of gypsum rock, fern bushes. As a keepsake, you can dry a herbarium of meadow herbs. I could not resist this irresistible greenery of the Psebay forests, I wanted to remember with all my heart and keep this beauty at home.

Psebay is an amazing place for a Russian tourist to relax. Calm rest with family, away from civilization or rest with a noisy company. Measured walking around the village or extreme mountain routes. And everyone here will find something of their own, dear to the heart.

All this is Psebay, all this is Russia!

Interesting nearby

Psebay, discovered by us quite by accident in the mid-2000s, turned out to be an amazing reserve of almost untouched nature and a place where residents of big cities can join it.

This is a village in the Krasnodar Territory, located at the foot of the slopes of the mountains of the Western Caucasus (part of the Greater Caucasus Range). To put it figuratively, this is the "bear's corner" of the Krasnodar Territory: the road from Psebay rests on the mountains of the Caucasian Natural Biosphere Reserve, where the border of the Krasnodar Territory, Karachay-Cherkessia and Abkhazia passes through remote reserved places. The Caucasus Nature Reserve is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and this fact has already interested us and forced us to “dig” information about Psebay.

The village was quite famous in Soviet times, it was in it that the popular multi-day hiking route "Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana" began, passing through the territory of the Caucasian Reserve. On it, with some physical effort, one could see all the beauties of the mountains of their native country: gorges, alpine plateaus, clear blue lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and impenetrable thickets of Caucasian forests (which, however, with the help of experienced guides, turned out to be quite passable).

In the 1990s, with the collapse of the Soviet Union, the infrastructure of Psebay, "sharpened" for the reception of large groups of unpretentious tourists who love nature and hiking, fell into disrepair, and at times a real war was waged around accommodation facilities in the style of that time. So, one of the most famous tourist centers of Psebay called "Voskhod" changed owners many times, and not always the change of leadership was in its favor. Nevertheless, Psebay himself, and the camp sites, and the inhabitants of the village survived the difficult 90s, and in the early 2000s, people's interest in outdoor activities in nature, and also there was at least some desire of the authorities to restore the lost popularity of routes.

Actually, we learned about Psebay from the new booklets printed as part of the promotion of the Krasnodar Territory and its resorts. It became clear that there is a place to stay there - at the already mentioned Voskhod camp site, which even had its own website. So we packed up and went there - almost at random. Fortunately, at that time we were resting with relatives in the Krasnodar Territory itself, and it turned out to be easy to buy a ticket for a regular bus to Mostovsky.

Arriving at the camp site, we quickly settled down and, having become accustomed to the Spartan situation, went on reconnaissance to the forest located right outside the gate, for spring water. To say that we liked it there is an understatement. Perhaps it was just the delight of the first meeting with the mountains and wildlife (although truly wild nature did not begin at all in the village, but a few kilometers from it, at the foot of the mountains of the reserve).

The hostel turned out to be good in that it provided the services of experienced guides who showed tourists the mountains and took them to the most beautiful places, which were many within a radius of several tens of kilometers from Psebay. To many of them, guests of the camp site were first brought up by transport - army "goats" or all-terrain vans, because it was not possible to get there by an ordinary car, and then it was already necessary to go out and overcome the path on foot. In the summer, a few days in Psebay seemed so few to us that after a few months we decided to return there - to meet New Year and spend a whole week there. With this, I end the background and digression about Psebay and focus on what to do there and what to see. And there really is something to see.

If you are an experienced tourist, then most likely you should not waste time on trifles, get ready and go through the mountains with guides right along the famous route "Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana" (5-7 days). This requires considerable physical preparation and attitude, but you will have unforgettable experiences from the series “only mountains can be better than mountains”. As the guides told us (rather harsh at first glance, but in their hearts they are real enthusiasts of their work and fans of the mountains) there are such places along the route that even they, already accustomed to beauty, often dream at night. In the mountains, most likely, you will be able to see many animals, easily - even bears and bison, not to mention smaller ones. the inhabitants of the reserve.

If you come to Psebay just to breathe in the mountain air and take a break from the city, and are not in the mood to walk through the mountains with a heavy backpack for several days, then do not despair - in any case, you will be able to see a lot. Ready-made routes do not have a category of difficulty and are available to everyone, even the elderly.

Where to stay in Psebay

Sights of Psebay

Mount Shapka- one of the nearby attractions where tourists are taken. From the foot to the top, the path runs through a gloomy forest with giant trees and the same giant boulders. A breathtaking panorama of the mountain range of the Caucasus Range, Psebay and the Malaya Laba River, along which the village is located, opens up from Shapka. A real delight!

Nikitinsky waterfalls- are located in the mountains near the village of Nikitino, after which they got their name. Tourists are brought by transport to the village, from where the hiking route to the waterfalls starts. The road, however, without rises.

This is not yet Nikitinsky waterfalls, this is one of the cascades on the way to them

Kapustinsky waterfall more than 40 meters high, falling from a sheer cliff. The nearest village is Nikitino, where you can drive up by car, from where you can walk several kilometers uphill. This is a more tiring route, especially the last few steep tens of meters to the waterfall.

Gunkiny caves. Hiking route from the camp site "Voskhod", not very far and not very tiring.

Mostovskoy - thermal springs. In the village of Mostovsky, located 40 kilometers from Psebay (toward Labinsk), recreation centers with thermal springs are very popular. They say that since the moment we were there in the mid-2000s, the infrastructure for those wishing to have a cultural rest has improved significantly.

Kyzyl-bek waterfalls. It is, as the name implies, several waterfalls. You can go to them along a long route through the mountains (by car to the village of Salt, then walk several kilometers through the mountains along the bed of the Kyzyl-Bek River), or you can almost drive up to the largest of them (walk several hundred meters through the forest). In the warm season, many tourists, having reached this waterfall, often cannot resist the temptation to swim in small lakes-bowls at its foot.

On the way to the Kyzyl-bek waterfalls

This, of course, is not all routes and interesting natural places, but only the most popular, so to speak, "knurled".

What else can you do in Psebay?

The valley in which Psebay lies is a fairly well-known place for hang gliding in the south of Russia. The same village and the mountainous areas around it look bewitching when you circle above them on a hang glider. I didn’t fly myself, but I was shown videos of flights: unreal views and, of course, thrills. Try it if you are not afraid of heights (without the usual glass of an airplane) and the deafening noise of engines.

The distance from the village of Psebay to the village of Kirovsky, where the Skazka guest house is located, is only 22.5 km. Here everyone will find something to their liking! We will be convinced of this by studying in more detail the history of the appearance and the main attractions of Psebay! Let's start with the main thing: on average, there are 180 clear days a year, the maximum winter temperature is minus 8 degrees Celsius. The area around is mountainous, rich in caves, gorges, alpine meadows, healing springs.

The village of Psebay: history and modernity

The foothills of the Caucasus, the place where the mountainous Malaya Laba meets the Rocky Range: it is here, on the left bank of the river, that the village of Psebay is located. Geographically, it belongs to the Mostovsky district of the Krasnodar Territory, its length is 12 km.

The name is of ancient Turkic origin, in translation it means “a place rich in water”. In addition to Malaya Laba, the Psebaika canal, a “man-made” river, flows here. The settlement arose back in 1857; initially, the military of the Sevastopol regiment with their families quartered here, later the Cossacks. Since 1888, members of the royal family have chosen this area as hunting grounds. The cousin of Nicholas II, Semyon Mikhailovich, liked to spend time here.

In Soviet times, Psebay became the starting point for many tourist routes - from here the pedestrian route to Krasnaya Polyana started, designed for 5 days and considered one of the most interesting in the Caucasus Reserve. Now the area and even the mentioned route have received a second birth, although for many years they were undeservedly forgotten.

What is worth seeing in Psebay itself?

Here is the representative office of the Northern Department of the Caucasian Reserve, where passes are issued for routes along it. Therefore, for tourists, the village is a convenient location for gathering and obtaining permits.

Anyone who loves architectural monuments will be interested in the hunting lodge and the church, built during the period of the royal hunt in these parts and now being objects of cultural heritage.

Travelers with children should visit V.I. Miroshnikova. It arose as a temporary shelter for injured animals and orphaned cubs, whose parents died at the hands of poachers. Here you can see a bear, deer, wild boars, goats, wild ducks and swans, although the composition of pets is changeable.

Those who are interested in natural minerals will surely enjoy the stone workshop. You can see the collection and buy handmade souvenirs made from stones and semi-precious gems mined in the Caucasus Mountains, the Urals, etc.

Fans of hang gliding often gather in the village - the valley is protected from strong winds, which allows you to soar freely up to 9 months a year. In the near future, a large-scale development of this extreme sport in Psebay is planned.

Attractions in the vicinity of Psebay

Nevertheless, the main thing in Psebay and its sights is the surrounding nature, here it is diverse! Rocks, caves, grottoes, waterfalls, thermal springs, dips - a real abundance!

caves

Grottoes formed as a result of karst processes attract speleologists and just tourists. Gunkins are called 4 caves in the beam of the same name, stretching in succession and, in the aggregate, occupying several kilometers. An underground river flows from the largest. The dark and spacious vaults of the halls, narrow corridors are tempting for everyone who loves the bowels of the earth, but it is worth dressing warmly for a visit here. In the spring, during the melting of glaciers, not all caves of Gunkina Balka are accessible to visitors.

Near the village there is another unusual cave called Dedova Pit. It is located very close and even under the road and is a huge empty cavity from several halls of different levels, the entrance to which was a failure. According to legend, it appeared by chance when a certain grandfather was riding a cart here and suddenly fell into a large hole, which later turned out to be a large cave that received such a funny name.

Less known, but no less attractive to those who know, is the Rozhnova cave, located in a crevice near Akhmet Rock. Its halls are narrow and intricate labyrinths, where walking alone and without insurance is not recommended.

waterfalls

Water objects near Psebay are famous sights! We are talking about the Kyzylbek, Nikitinsky and Kapustinsky waterfalls.

To see how a powerful stream of water falls from a height of 40 m, you need to move south of Psebay, to the village of Nikitino, from where a one-day hiking route leads to the waterfalls. By the way, the path to Krasnaya Polyana leaves from it. Nikitinsky waterfalls are located very close to the village (a small river Nikitinka runs there). There are two of them - Big (35 m high) and Small (15 m high). Kapustinsky is further away, but it is the highest - 40 m. It is easy to feel the approach to each of them by the increasing noise of water falling from the rocks. Photos taken in these places are unable to convey all the energy and power of such wonders of nature!

To get to the Kyzylbek waterfalls, you need to move east of Psebay. It is there that the river flows, which gave them their name. In the same area, between the rivers Laba Bolshaya and Malaya, there are mineral springs. They are salty, which was the reason to call the nearby village Salty.

Rivers

Speaking of waterfalls, we mentioned the Kyzylbek river, which is fast, clean and swift, like all mountain rivers. The water level in it depends on the snowiness of winter and the thickness of the glacier layer that feeds it, starting to melt. But Malaya Laba has become more attractive for tourists. It is no longer just swift, but truly stormy, with rapids and rifts. What became the basis of its popularity among fans of extreme rafting and rafting. The Malaya Laba in the valley flows into the Bolshaya Laba, but its shores are rocky and steep up to the valley - it looks bewitching! It is quite full-flowing, has tributaries, forms floods during the flood, is fed by glaciers, so the water in it is icy, which is very pleasant on hot days. There are many types of fish in Malaya Laba, but the most popular are chub and trout. Therefore, in addition to tourists, here you can often meet fishermen with sufficient knowledge and techniques to fish in the conditions of the fast flow of mountain rivers.

thermal springs

People who appreciate the benefits mineral waters and baths, they come to Psebay also for the reason that there are famous thermal springs nearby. There is a sanatorium near them, but it is still not cheap to stay there for a couple of weeks. But from Psebay by car you can get quickly. They are visited all year round - at the exit from the bowels the water temperature is up to 90 degrees Celsius! In the baths, it is much lower - up to 42 degrees, but you can swim here in winter. The composition of healing natural water includes half of the periodic table, it helps people with diseases of the nervous, musculoskeletal, respiratory systems.

mountain ranges

In addition to rest, treatment and walks near Psebay, you can go mountain trekking and even rock climbing. Recall that the slopes of the Greater Caucasus Range in the form of the mountains of the Western Caucasus come close to the village.

The nearest mountain attraction of Psebay is Mount Shapka, covered with dense forest, where, in addition to trees, you can also see huge boulders here. Of the local ones, Ahmet Rock (1313 m), the top of the Church, are also noteworthy. They are beautiful, but a little further lie the larger Mifargut ridges with a height of 1249 m and Gerpegem with a height of 1211 m.

A walk to Mount Hatsavita will be fascinating. You can also make a trip to the Bambaki Ridge. If you go further, you can see the Red Rock, and already further - admire the mountain landscapes of Adygea. In general, there are many mountains in the district, even their names are attractive - the rocks "Nun", Mishin Bugor, mountains Rvanaya, Golaya, Bald, etc. Indeed, it is worth visiting Psebay to see all the delights of the Rocky Range.

So, in Psebay you will definitely find something to your liking! It can be hiking or horse riding, cycling, jeeping, rock climbing, rafting, fishing, hang gliding, therapeutic baths and even mountain biking! Whatever you choose, the issue of accommodation has already been resolved - you will be welcomed and accommodated with pleasure guest house"Fairy tale"!

It is better to get on although there are bus routes from cities such as Rostov and Krasnodar. The nearest city with a railway connection is Armavir. Minibuses run from there and you can take a taxi if you come from afar and by train. (distance to Psebay -120 kilometers, - 1.40 - 1 hour 50 minutes) Price trips from Rostov around 500-600 rubles.

What to do in Psebay

Psebay in Soviet times was positioned as one of the centers hiking in the North Caucasus. Here was the beginning of one of the popular crossings along the tourist route " Psebay - Krasnaya Polyana». Now mountain tourism becomes more and more popular every year. Also, local landscape conditions and weather in Mostovsky and Psebay are favorable for such types of recreation as rafting, jeeping And cycling.

Hotel in the form of impregnable medieval castle colorful and really accessible

Some routes pass through the territory Caucasian Reserve. In order to avoid problems with rangers, it is better to issue permission, the office of one of its departments is located in Psebay. 10 kilometers along the road in a southerly direction, behind the village Transshipment There is frontier post, in which, if necessary, you can get documents for passing through the border zone, address st. Industrial, 226.

If you climb Mount Shapka, you will see a picturesque view with a depth of background

For me, as a lover of hiking in the mountains, the Psebay mountain region has become an alternativeMountain Adygea with its famous plateauLago-Naki , where it became too crowded, especially on weekends. For 15 years I went to rest every year in those parts and followed the development of infrastructure. The places are not inferior in beauty to other regions of the Caucasus Mountains, but sometimes you want to get away from people and closer to nature.

On the right bank of the Malaya Laba, opposite the village, there is a village Andryuki , there is an airfield with a grass surface and flying club, where the annual meeting of small aviation enthusiasts from all over Russia takes place. When I first arrived in Psebay and saw this airfield while driving around the area, I immediately stopped by and agreed with a local pilot hang-glider(not to be confused with a hang glider, which does not have a motor). The next day, for a reasonable fee, they flew with him over the valley and the nearest mountain ranges.

Both the village and the mountains around it look bewitching, stunning views and a whole range of thrills are guaranteed to you. I recommend everyone to try a bird's-eye view, especially since, unlike an airplane, the view is free all-round, and not from the cockpit through the glass. The entire Caucasus Range and nearby mountains, such asBig Thach and famousDevil's Gate . If someone still decides to fly, then dress warmly, at an altitude it is much cooler than on the ground, even in the heat.

View of Gerpegem from Shahan

You can climb one of the mountains of the Gerpegem ridge, since you can start climbing right from Psebay. Stunning views, at any time of the year, and in the summer also the aromas of mountain herbs and flowers. The hike is not difficult, accessible to all ages and abilities.

View from Mount Shapka on the Skirda Plateau

In the village of Perevalka, which I have already mentioned, which belongs to the Psebay rural settlement, there is one of the nearby sights of the mountainA cap, it must be climbed. The ascent is short and not difficult, the path to the top passes through a shady forest with giant trees and giant boulders.

The mountain offers a picturesque panorama of the Malaya Laba River and a view of the plateauMow. If after that you are not overwhelmed with delight, and you do not mentally thank God for the opportunity to see this beauty, then it is better to sit at home and watch TV!

Transshipment has suspension bridge across the river, you can cross it and climb the forest road along the river Hungarian, in the upper reaches of which is waterfall in several cascades. The places are completely wild, the passage to the waterfall through the thicket, you won’t be able to find it right away.

Waterfall on the river Vengerka

But I made my way to the sound of water and still found it by half-overgrown marks on trees made many years ago. Judging by the absence of a trail, this waterfall has not been visited for a long time. You feel after such an almost discoverer m.

In fact, the water in the river is not so cold.

There are many in the forest mushrooms, can be found bison according to local old-timers. The river is found trout and lovers fishing in mountain rivers they like to come to these places.

The village is also interesting because it is after it that high mountains begin, a mountain road passes through it along the gorge along the Malaya Laba River. The only path that leads to such points as villagesStormy , Nikitino AndCordon Chernorechye .

Mostovskoy - thermal springs

The administrative center of the district, the village of Mostovskoy, is located 40 kilometers from Psebay to the north. Famous throughout the country for its thermal springs, the infrastructure of which has developed rapidly in recent years, with hotels, recreation centers for every taste. The water temperature at the exit is +85 +90 degrees, but it is supplied to the pools in parameters from +37 to +44. Water water is saturated with many trace elements and mineral salts, which is extremely beneficial for the body. Helps with problems with the musculoskeletal system, nervous exhaustion and stress. The springs are especially popular in the cold season, in winter there is a full house, despite the rather high prices for accommodation for this area. account for to book places at the bases at the sources in advance, especially on weekends.

Place of attachment of the beams of the ancient dwelling on Mount Shapka

But for his readers, Petrovich gives hint how to get around this problem and not spend extra money. This recommendation is only suitable for those who travel by their own transport. You can stay at the bases somewhere in Psebay or the surrounding area, since there are enough of them there, and the prices are an order of magnitude lower than in Mostovsky and go to thermal springs buying a one-time visit to the baths. I assure you that even with the expense of gasoline it will come out cheaper, personally verified, I tried both options.

Meadow flowers of Gerpegem will go to hikers

Mount Kizinchi Located 66 kilometers from Psebay on the left bank of the river Hodz, a little before reaching the village Bagovskaya, north of the farm Kizinka. You will have to go through Mostovskoy, there is no shorter road. You can get over to the left bank by an iron bridge, not very presentable in appearance, but strong enough for any type of transport.

An incomprehensible natural phenomenon in the mountains of Psebay is waiting for its researchers

The mountain stands apart and is very majestic, with an abundance of grottoes and niches that arose as a result of natural influences in a natural way. It consists of two tiers of rocks - the uppermost and the second one just below, consisting of separate pillars resembling fingers. Between the tiers there is a trail along the entire southern slope. From this trail and from the very top of the cliff, a picturesque view of the Main Caucasian Range and the Small Bambaki as well as in the direction of Mountainous Adygea.

In Kizinka, grazing horses came out to meet

On the road from Mostovsky to Psebay, in front of the village Shedok there is a left turn with a sign
"White Rocks", once there was a sanatorium on the banks of the Laba River, now it’s either a recreation center, or a summer cottage, it’s not about her. Near children's sports camp, there is a suspension bridge to the other side. The place itself is interesting, the outcrop of white limestone rocks on the right bank and along the bottom of the river makes this place especially picturesque.

Petrovich swims on the "White Stones"

It is also a favorite bathing place for the surrounding population, in the summer months the water running down from the mountains manages to warm up to a comfortable temperature while remaining crystal clear. The depth is quite shallow, which is very popular with children who love to splash around and scare the small fish scurrying along the bottom. Smooth limestone blocks of bizarre shapes create natural fonts in which you can relax under a natural massage with fast jets of mountain water. At other times of the year, you can simply relax in good location admiring the views.

We discovered new corners of the Krasnodar Territory - Psebay and Nikitino. Mountain air, waterfalls, rivers, viewing platforms, alpine meadows - just beauty!

Knowing our love for Adygea, friends have long invited us to their dacha in Psebay. “Our nature is no worse than in Adygea,” they assured, “and there are many fewer tourists.” So we went to see if it was really so beautiful there. 🙂

Such mountains in Psebay

We heard about Psebay before. A few years ago, my husband's brother Sergei (known under the nickname izvozshik) was vacationing in Nikitino, went to.

From our house to Psebay exactly 420 kilometers. Drive about 5 hours.

We left on Friday evening. Once again, they marveled at how inconvenient Russian toll roads are. Everything is done in order to rip off people's money, and nothing - for the convenience of those who fork out. Even with a transponder, you have to queue on the green line. Why do we need such toll roads, if we drove well without them?

Payment point on the M4-Don highway near Samara

Might be better, but still inconvenient.

And then, in front of Veselaya Zhizn, they are building another toll road checkpoint. A fun life has already begun here - on Sunday evening a four-kilometer traffic jam lined up here. I had to detour around it...

Soon a fun life in traffic jams will begin in the Happy Life

On the way to Psebay we got caught in the rain twice.

Road to Psebay. The rain is over

The second time was not just rain, but a thunderstorm. The sky was covered with clouds. We have already begun to doubt that good weather awaits us in Psebay ...

Before the storm

The most interesting road overlooking the mountainous area begins in Mostovsky. We entered the mountains at night, so there are no photos of this part of the path. And in general there will be no usual story about the road from this trip. This is another reason why I don't like driving at night.

Bridges and waterfalls in Nikitino

The next day in the morning we went to Nikitino.

On the way we stopped in Burnoy to take a walk along the suspension bridge.

Then we went to.

Of course, we did not reach the Nikitinsky waterfalls. Part of the road was walked, admiring the surroundings.

The Small Nikitinsky Falls gave rise to the suspicion that the Big Nikitinsky Falls would not be full-flowing either. And so it happened.

But still, the Big Nikitinsky waterfall is impressive in size.

I can imagine how beautiful it is when full of water! I really want to see it with an abundance of water.

There are two suspension bridges in Nikitino. One across the Nikitin River. Now it is almost dry.

The other is a suspension bridge across Malaya Laba.

The next point was the observation platform on Nikitino.

Then we went to see the Turkish Bridge, built in the 18th century near Nikitino. Although the Turks committed a lot of atrocities in the Caucasus, killed the local population, sold captives into slavery, but there was some benefit from them - they built such a strong bridge, it still stands!

Then we reached the suspension bridge in Kirovsky. We wandered along Malaya Laba and returned to Psebay.

In the evening we ate barbecue. We enjoyed delicious food, fresh mountain air and communication. Everyone was delighted to meet friends whom they had not seen for more than a month. And, of course, from playing with friends' adorable dog.

The views from the house are amazing. On the one hand, the Gerpegem mountain range, on the other hand, mountain peaks are also visible. A dream, not a cottage!

Psebay village

Psebay is a very elongated (12.5 kilometers) village in the mountains. Quiet, cozy, mostly private houses. Wherever you look, mountains are everywhere.

Mountains of the Rocky Range of the North Caucasus stretch along the entire village. Low, a little more than a kilometer high, but very picturesque.

There are mountains everywhere in Psebay

The river Malaya Laba flows along the village. On the central square there is a chapel, a fountain and a monument to Lenin. There is a school, a house of culture, supermarkets, a church.

Trekking in the mountains of Psebay

Sunday morning woke up. Directly from the windows of the bedroom - a view of the mountains. We went to the kitchen - and from there a view of the mountains. How could you not go to them?

This is the view from our bedroom window.

This is the view from the opposite window of the house.

And it all started with the fact that friends decided to show us the observation deck over Psebay.

Devil's Gate

I kept looking sideways at the beautiful rocks somewhere in the distance, in the western part of the Gerpegem ridge. Well, it started. We wanted to take a closer look at the rocks ... and somehow imperceptibly ended up on them, at an altitude of 1,200 meters.

From the Gerpegem ridge you can enjoy amazing views of Psebay, alpine meadows, you can see the Devil's Gate and many other peaks.

We were lucky with the weather! Although the peaks were in a haze, but not a drop of rain.

I did not want to leave Psebay. The places here are beautiful.

We are going from Psebay

Thanks to our friends Tanya and Egor for the invitation to this wonderful mountainous region. We hope to become frequent guests here. 🙂

Goodbye, Psebay!

The road back was easy. But again they stood in a traffic jam at the checkpoint, despite the transponder ... Does anyone believe that toll roads are created for the convenience of people?

And again a traffic jam at the payment point

Soon there will be separate stories about the sights of Psebay and its environs.
