Kamala beach alanya. Kamala Beach in Phuket is a good place to relax with children

Kamala beach Phuket (Kamala Beach) is a very ambiguous beach for me, for more than a year I can’t decide whether I like it or not 🙂 There are beaches that you fall in love with the first time - for me it’s best beaches Phuket Surin and, there are beaches that evoke horror at first sight - for me it’s Kata and Patong, but there are such average beaches that are sometimes very pleasing, and sometimes upsetting. In this article, a detailed description of Kamala beach Phuket, sea, infrastructure, hotels on Kamala beach, photos, reviews.

Kamala Beach in Phuket is so different depending on the season, time of day, weather and my mood 🙂

Description of Kamala Beach

Kamala Beach is a long beach in a bay in the west of Phuket, located north of the popular Patong and south of the beloved. Between Patong and Kamala there is still an inaccessible Kalim beach, and between Kamala and Surin, the passage to which is currently closed by land, you can only get there by sea. Kamala beach on

As I already wrote, Kamala beach is quite long, the length of the beach strip is about two kilometers. Conventionally, Kamala Beach can be divided into four parts (map below):

  • The southern part is an inaccessible part of the beach, a shallow sea, boats, a stink river flows nearby (number 1)
  • The central equipped part of the beach with all the necessary beach infrastructure and a small walking path near the sea (number 2)
  • The wild part of Kamala beach, which ends with a river (number 3)
  • The northernmost part of Kamala Beach, which houses the CafĂ© Del Mar Phuket beach club and the Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach hotel (number 4)

The schematic map shows sections of Kamala Beach

All these parts of the beach differ from each other in the quality of the sand, and the entry into the sea, and the number of people, and cleanliness.

Vegetation, shade, sand, sea

Along the entire beach strip grow chic palm trees and sprawling casuarina (such Thai "coniferous" trees with soft "needles"), which create a good shade in the morning.

The beach has lush vegetation, a lot of casuarina
There are also enough palm trees on Kamala 🙂

The beach strip at high tide is not very wide, so it’s convenient to sunbathe in the shade under a tree, and then run for a short time on hot sand to cool off in the sea 🙂

The sand on Kamala Beach is grayish, fine, in some places with an admixture of small stones. In the northern part near Novotel, the sand is finer.

The sand in the northern part of the beach near the Novotel hotel is finer and whiter

The entry into the sea is very smooth, in the southern part of the beach the sea is very shallow, swimming is problematic, in the central part the sea is deeper, but at low tide it also becomes shallow. The entrance to the water is without large stones and corals, but in some places small pebbles are found in the water.

Southern part of the beach at low tide. Very fine
Low tide on the beach
Despite the fact that the sea goes far at low tide, swimming in the sea in the central part of the beach is still comfortable

The color of the water in the sea is very dependent on the time of day and the presence of the sun. In the morning, in sunny weather, the sea is bright turquoise, but in the evening it is gray ... The water in the sea is not as pleasant and gentle as on Surin or Kata Noi, and because of the gray sand at the bottom it seems not very clean, although in fact it is not this way. In general, the sea on Kamala is similar to the sea on Koh Samui or, i.e. not perfectly clear!

The sea on Kamala can be this color! Morning on a sunny day
Or like this. Afternoon, dim sun shines from the sea
The water on this beach does not seem to be perfectly clear.

In the summer on Kamala Beach, as on most beaches in Phuket, there are strong waves, in the off-season (autumn and spring) the waves are small and very pleasant, in winter Kamala is usually calm.

Purity

Unfortunately, the beach strip of Kamala Beach does not shine with cleanliness. The beach sections are well cleaned only opposite the hotels, namely the northernmost part of the beach near the Novotel and the central one opposite the Kamala Beach Resort (A Sunprime Resort) hotel.

Due to the fact that a lot of casuarinas grow on the beach, “needles” from them remain on the sand, there are a lot of leaves on the sand that no one removes. In the wild part Kamala beach Beach there is a lot of garbage, several times they even saw how foreigners came with large garbage bags and cleaned up a small section of the beach.

The beach cannot boast of perfect cleanliness, quite a lot of natural debris

Kamala beach infrastructure

Now, sunbeds have been returned to some beaches in Phuket, which, by law, should occupy no more than 10% of the beach strip: not all beaches have them, but Kamala Beach has sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, the cost for two sunbeds and an umbrella is 200 baht per day.

Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach - 200 baht per set
Beds are waiting for tourists 🙂

Also on the beach there are paid toilets and showers that I saw in those places (I will mark on the map at the bottom of the article):

  • In the northern part of the beach near the river
  • In the Nanork Seafood cafe, which is located on the path between the equipped and wild part of the beach, where everyone parks vehicles (only the shower here is a hose and a barrel of fresh water 🙂)
  • In the central part of the beach, where a row of cafes along the sea ends and a row of macaroons begins (the shower is normal, there is even shower gel 🙂)

Toilet 10 baht, shower 20 baht. You can also try to rinse in the shower for free at the Sunprime Resort.

On the shore, you can get a massage, both on mattresses on the sand, and in a massage parlor next to the shore. Prices for Kamala massage in the photo below:

Along almost all coastline there is a concrete footpath, in some places covered with sand. In the central part of the beach, on one side of it there are cafes and even several hotels on the first line, and on the other, the beach itself and the sea. It is very pleasant to sit in a cafe almost on the seashore: unfortunately, there are few cafes that are located right next to the beach strip in Phuket. In the "wild" no-man's-land part of the beach, there is a concrete fence on one side of the path, and on the other, the beach itself: it's convenient to ride a bike and park right next to the place where you lie 🙂

Prices for Kamale in cafes along the beach are standard, the average cost of dinner is 400 - 500 baht for two.

At the northern end of Kamala Beach is the popular beach club and restaurant Café Del Mar, which hosts brunches on Sundays and parties in the evenings.

Contingent and number of people on the beach

A year ago, Kamala Beach, especially its wild part, was almost empty. In the same season, there is simply an invasion of tourists throughout Phuket (they say that such a full house of vacationers in Thailand was last in the 2012-2013 season, just when we wintered for the first time)!

There are a lot of foreign pensioners, Germans, Scandinavians. But there are also enough Russian speakers on Kamala Beach. This beach is often chosen for holidays with children, a lot of families with strollers walk along the path along the sea or along the surf line at low tide.

Local newlyweds love to come to Kamala for a wedding photo shoot, we have repeatedly observed photo shoots on the beach 🙂

Infrastructure of the Kamala district

The infrastructure of the Kamala district is very well developed. The main road runs about 350 m from the beach. There is a large Big C supermarket, many 7 elevens, Family mart, other shops, banks, cafes, restaurants, at certain times there are macaroons along the road.

In addition to the walking path with cafes along the sea in Kamala, there are also several small tourist streets with cafes, restaurants, massage parlors, which you can walk along in the evening. These streets reminded me of the main street on Koh Samui.

In the central part near the embankment there is a small park with a playground and a monument to the victims of the tsunami.

Several times a week, some kind of walking street or, simply speaking, Night Market night markets are held in Kamala, where they sell Thai food, some clothes, and some souvenirs. Despite the fact that the markets are called night markets, they are open from lunch until about 19:00 - 20:00.

Markets on Kamala Beach:

  • The Wednesday and Saturday market is across the street from Big C. Coordinates: 7.946059, 98.279853
  • The market on Mondays and Fridays is here: 7.953813, 98.286008, across the street from the park with the Fantasy show.

Entertainment and attractions

On the Kamala beach itself, you can rent a jet ski, ride the sea on a "banana" or "cheesecake", rent a SUP board, in the northern part near the Novotel hotel rent kayaks.

On Kamala, in the southernmost part, there is a Buddhist temple Wat Kamala, and a mosque in the center.

There is a large theme park and Fantasy show (Phuket FantaSea).

Hotels on Kamala Beach

Speaking about hotels on Kamala beach, I want to note that cheers, there are cheap hotels on the first line! But for lovers of good comfortable hotels in Kamala, there is a choice 🙂

Sunprime Kamala Beach is a great option for a holiday in Phuket. We recently returned from Thailand and decided not to delay with a review of this wonderful place, because I know that if you don’t write right away, you will never write. I hope that the review will help someone in choosing a hotel and a place to have a great rest and get a lot of positive emotions. We started our journey from Yekaterinburg on 12/09/2018. The plane took off without delay, the flight went well, we arrived at the appointed time and knew in advance that we would arrive in Krabi, but did not yet know what it was like to get from Krabi to Phuket. And the trip turned out to be very unpleasant, it took almost 5 hours on the road, with a 20-minute stop. We arrived at the hotel around 3 pm very tired. Check-in went quickly, we were escorted to the room and here we we saw what we were very afraid of, because before the trip, we also studied a lot of reviews. We were put in a room right above the reception, the room is clean, well-groomed, with good bedding, BUT the view there is far from being a resort - the road and the construction site, in addition, there is air conditioning right above the bed, and this did not bode well. And we, knowing that there is such a lack of rooms in this hotel, ordered a deluxe room with a terrace. The air conditioner is built in there, and it does not blow much, in the right direction. Therefore, we decided to insist on our order and asked to put us in a room with a terrace. The girl reissued and we were taken to our room. It was not close, as the hotel area is very large, many buildings, 4 pools, everything is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Our building was next to the sea. The room turned out to be with the smell of humidity, the sun does not get there, it was made in gray tones and it was somehow depressing, but still it was much better than the road and the construction site, it was well located and we settled there. The room is clean, has everything you need, shampoo, shower gel, disposable shaving machines, toothbrushes, caps, disposable slippers, light cotton bathrobes. The buildings are located with the letter P and form a closed space inside with a green lawn, a small lake with fish, turtles and even geckos live. Very pleasant, peaceful scenery. A little further away, closer to the sea, there is a large swimming pool with sun loungers and a restaurant with a bar. The main contingent of vacationers are elderly Germans - calm, balanced, there are very few Russians, they practically did not hear Russian speech. In addition, there are no vacationers with children in this hotel, which is a big plus for other vacationers. A calm atmosphere is everywhere in the restaurant, and by the pools, by the sea. And it should be noted that this is a hotel for a quiet measured rest, when everything has already been seen and seen and you just want to enjoy the sea and the sun. But for those who want to go on excursions, there are a lot of local tours. operators with reasonable prices. The territory of the hotel is separated from the sea by a small path leading to various cafes and other hotels. To the right (if you look at the sea) nearby cafes, the range of dishes is almost the same everywhere, and Thai and European cuisine. If you go left across the bridge, you will go to a small village with the same cafes and shops. Where there are more visitors, it tastes better. There are 2 Seven Eleven shops, and further away, if you turn to the alley to the left, where massage parlors and Italian restaurants go, you can walk to a decent Big C. Excellent pastries, grilled chicken, hot fish - everything is much cheaper than on the street. By the way, the very first Italian restaurant on this street, where pizza ovens are visible, the pizza itself is simply disgusting (rubber dough, minimum toppings, expensive), I do not recommend it. In general, you won't leave hungry. Regarding the restaurant at the hotel, we can say that the breakfasts are not bad, there is everything, and cold cuts and cheeses, eggs in any form, chopped vegetables, salads, delicious yogurts, a small selection of meat dishes, porridge only on water, juices, coffee, tea, 4-5 types of fruit, but every day the same thing, by the end I didn’t feel like anything and completely tasteless pastries, except for pancakes. Once we had dinner at the hotel restaurant, did not like it - tasteless. Fruit can be bought at the market at the main entrance of the hotel on Mondays and Fridays. There is also in the village, but more expensive and the choice is small. Massage was done in a spa center in Patong, where professionals work, they did not dare to trust street massage therapists, although it costs much more, but in this matter it is important that people with medical education do massage. If you don’t bother with this, then massage can be done on the beach, in the hotel and on the street. The most positive emotions are the sea. Kamala is a clean beach with yellow sand, a very gentle entrance, waves on which you can swing, warm water, what else is needed for happiness. For those who wish, there are all water attractions. True, several days were cloudy with little rain, but this did not affect the water temperature. Beach towels can be changed at any time and must be returned before 18:00. On the eve of the New Year holidays, the hotel was all decorated, the staff was constantly doing something, without disturbing the vacationers. All requests were immediately fulfilled. The staff does not speak Russian. For a quiet, calm beach holiday the hotel is just great!…

It is one of the three most popular holiday destinations on the island and is well suited for a calm by the sea. Its peculiarity is that the coastal route goes to the east and does not separate the beach itself and the residential area. Thanks to this, there are hotels that can really be attributed to the first line. And this place is much quieter than others, where cars and motorcycles are constantly scurrying around, filling the air with exhaust and noise. Kamala Beach is equally remote from both, and from them, about twenty kilometers to them. The total length of the beach is about one and a half kilometers, and the width of the strip of sand is from five to thirty meters.

Conventionally, Kamala Beach in Phuket can be divided into three parts.

  1. South. On the southern strip of sand is not wider than five meters. It is there that the moorings for sightseeing boats are located, and therefore the water is rather dirty, and there are no umbrellas or sun loungers on the shore.
  2. Central. Kamala Beach itself begins after the turn of the road to the east. Geographically, this is the central part of the beach. There are a lot of people on all days, sun loungers and umbrellas stand like soldiers in a parade - in several rows. All types are available water activities, from bananas and cheesecakes to jet skis and water skis. Right along the sand strip there are cafes and restaurants, as well as massage parlors.
  3. Northern. The northern part of the beach is the most calm, there are not too many tourists there, but they are the guests of the first line hotels. Outside guests are not driven, they can also use sunbeds and umbrellas. According to many family tourists, northern Kamala is the best place for relaxation and swimming.

Natural conditions on Kamala Beach

Sprawling palm trees and casuarinas (horsetail plants) grow along the entire coastline on Kamala Beach. Until noon, they cover the sand with a thick shadow. During high tides, the sand strip narrows to a few meters, so you can literally plunge into the sea from a running start. The sand itself is grayish, as you move south, more and more small stones appear in it.

In the south and north of the beach, the entrance to the sea is very gentle, and the southern part is shallower, which is why it is used for parking boats. If you want to go deeper, then go to the central part, but at low tide it also becomes shallow. You can safely enter the water: there are no large stones and fragments of corals.

The color of the water changes depending on the time of day. In the morning, when the rays glide over the surface of the sea, it is bright turquoise. In the afternoon and evening it becomes grayish due to the sand on the bottom. What is an optical illusion, the water is as gentle and clear as on the beaches or.

Cleanliness level

Due to the abundance of tourists, Kamala Beach in Phuket does not shine with cleanliness. The most carefully cleaned on the northern edge, where the Novotel hotel is located, as well as in the center, where the strip of sand is assigned to the Kamala Beach Resort hotel.

It is worth noting that for some reason, long green branches that have broken off from casuarina are not considered garbage. Therefore, their number increases with distance from the water.

Beach infrastructure

Vacationers on Kamala Beach are provided with umbrellas and sunbeds for rent. A set of two sun loungers and an umbrella cost about 200 baht per day. Services are permanently offered, a session of which can be obtained not only in the salon nearby, but also right on the sand.

There is a path along the coast. It separates social and cultural enterprises - cafes, souvenir shops - from the beach. In the northern part of the beach, hotel doors open onto this path. A little further from the sea, next to the police station, there are sellers of hot pies and ice cream - the so-called. It is cheaper there than in a cafe, but lunch on a shady veranda overlooking the sea looks more attractive. The average check in a beach cafe is about five hundred baht for two people.

The northern part of the beach is attractive with the presence of the Café Del Mar club and restaurant, which opened in 2016. It has a swimming pool. In addition to all sorts of dishes, they also serve live music. The main action begins after six in the evening, when vacationers move from sunbeds to the dance floor. There is also a bar and a VIP area. On weekends, crazy fun starts from 14:00.

Things to do

For those who are interested in what to do on Kamala Beach, we especially recommend. Tourists from all over the island gather to watch the grandiose performance with the participation of hundreds of actors and animals. The total area of the entertainment center is 50 hectares; the Golden Kinnaree restaurant operates on its territory, accommodating up to 4 thousand visitors at the same time.

In the residential area near the beach there are restaurants and bars, massage parlors, tour desks. There are no large shopping centers, but it is not difficult to buy everything you need - beach accessories, daily clothes and shoes. In general, Kamala has everything to relax comfortably and with taste.

Best hotels

Hotels on Kamala Beach in Phuket can satisfy both epicureans and ascetics. Five-star hotels are open for the former, and affordable guesthouses for the latter. You can choose the most suitable hotel on the sites hotellook.ru or roomguru.ru. And you can see the best of them in the selection below.

These photos were taken from a small platform, which you can find if you follow from Kamala beach towards Surin (well, or vice versa, from Surin to Kamala), not far from Kamala, not reaching Laem Sing beach, there will be a small natural platform from which this magnificent view of the entire Kamala beach.

Kamala Beach is an amazing beach in every way!

For us, Kamala Beach has become a source of harmony, natural beauty and a relaxing atmosphere.

First of all, it is very beautiful, it immediately catches your eye as soon as you approach the beach. Here, tall palm trees, lined up along the perimeter of the beach strip, are so harmoniously combined with sea water delicate blue-turquoise color and soft white sand, which, in the rays of the sun, shimmers and plays with different shades, from snow-white to light beige and even gray-yellow.

And here are the happy newlyweds

Secondly, Kamala beach is not crowded and calm. In addition, the roadway does not pass right behind the beach, which gives additional silence. All this contributes to a calm, measured and relaxed holiday.

The length of the coastline of Kamala Beach is almost 2 kilometers, which is not small, and the width of the beach is about 20-30 meters, not much, but these meters are enough for relaxation. In addition, due to the fact that the beach smoothly passes into the embankment, visually, the beach strip seems to be much wider.

The sea water is clean. The beach is also quite clean and well maintained. There is natural garbage from palm trees and carried by the sea wave, but we did not notice household garbage on the beach, it is clear that the beach is regularly cleaned.

For a quieter holiday and sunbathing, the north side of the beach is more suitable. It is quieter here than in the central part of the beach. Here, at the farthest, northern point of the beach, there is a 4-star Hotel Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach. The public part of the beach adjoins the hotel. Good coolness is provided by casuarina trees, which also act as a source of a pleasant smell.

The central part of the beach has all the necessary beach infrastructure. There is a toilet and shower, as well as some beach and water activities - banana and jet ski riding, parasailing over the sea surface. You can rent a boat or kayak. And for even more relaxation, order a massage and relax under the gentle and skillful hands of Thai girls.

In search of coolness, you can take advantage of the natural shade emanating from the palm trees growing along the perimeter of the beach strip, or rent a sun lounger and sun umbrella, there are a lot of those in the central part of the beach. Price - 200 baht per day for two sun loungers and a sun umbrella.

The southernmost part of the beach is not suitable for a beach holiday, it is a more “wild” place, the coastal zone is dirty and boats are crowded.

Well, thirdly. If you have already forgotten, then, under these points, we list the advantages of Kamala Beach)). Thirdly, Kamala does not end on one beach, Kamala can rightfully be called a fully developed provincial town of the same name. The promenade runs along the length of the beach, and in the center of Kamala there are several streets with an abundance of cafes and restaurants, bars and massage parlors, small shops and outlets, as well as exchange offices, hotels and guest houses.

A narrow promenade runs along the beach, one part of which is occupied by hotels, so it is calmer and more conducive to walking.

In the central part of the beach there are cafes and restaurants, some of which are located directly on the beach strip.

Near the embankment, in the central part of Kamala, there is a small green park, which houses a cafe, a playground and a historical monument - Tsunami Memorial Park.

Monument to the victims of the 2004 Tsunami

Moving from the park above, to the center of Kamala, you will certainly go to the busy Rim Hat Rd street, along which there are numerous retail outlets, shops, massage parlors, exchange offices, cafes and restaurants, as well as hotels and guest houses.

Cons of Kamala Beach

For us personally, the minus of the beach can be called, perhaps, the rivers flowing into the sea. There are several on the beach. These rivers are far from ideal, dirty, but not smelly. However, swimming in the sea, you completely forget about it. In addition, the flow of "stinky rivers" into the sea on the beach strip is inherent in most Phuket beaches.

Entertainment and attractions of Kamala

One of the main and outstanding entertainments of Kamala is the colorful and large-scale show "Phuket Fantasy". Phuket FantaSea is a whole theme park with beautiful scenery, many actors and trained animals.

On Fridays, an evening (in Phuket it is called a night) outing market is organized in Kamala. At the market, you can buy clothes and souvenirs, as well as enjoy Thai cuisine, the dishes of which will be prepared in front of your eyes.

You can also walk to the Kamala Temple (Wat Kamala). The temple grounds are quiet and comfortable. And the bright buildings with red tiled roofs and the sculpture of Buddha are made in the traditional Buddhist style and are unlikely to leave anyone indifferent. The temple is located in the southern part of the beach, near the school.

Where to stay in Kamala

Near Kamala Beach there is a wide variety of accommodation, ranging from the most expensive and respectable 5-star resort hotels to budget hotels and guest houses. All accommodation facilities in Kamala are available.

How to get to Kamala beach

From the airport by taxi, or you can rent a motorbike or car. Well, or, which is the fastest and easiest, you can order an individual transfer in advance. At any time of the day, at the airport, a driver will be waiting for you with a sign where your name and surname will be written. To order a taxi, it is enough to provide your flight details.

On the public transport with a change in Phuket Town.

From Phuket Town

By songteo (local buses), following the route "Phuket - Bangtao - Surin - Kamala". Quickly, directly, without transfers. The fare is 40 baht.

From the beaches of Bangtao and Surin

On songteo. Or on foot. From Surin beach, the road is close and takes about 30 minutes, passes over the sea and along the cape. From Bang Tao beach further, but walking distance is quite realistic.

From other beaches and points of the island, also with a change in Phuket Town, rented bike or taxi / tuk-tuk.

How we travel cheap!

This resort region occupies a special place. The former Muslim fishing village has suddenly become very popular with tourists. And all because on a crowded island, it was Kamala Beach (Phuket) that turned out to be the most suitable for a relaxed holiday, like somewhere on Koh Samui or Koh Phangan. It especially attracts travelers who come not for the sake of nightlife and dubious pleasures a la Pattaya. It is located in the western part of the island, north of noisy Patong. There are not so many chic hotels here, mostly "threes" and "fours". But let's talk about everything in order.

How to get to Kamala

Arriving in Phuket by international plane or you transfer to a taxi or mini-bus. The latter will cost half as much - about four hundred baht. It is even more budgetary to get to the capital of the island by bus, and from there by another flight to Kamala beach. Phuket Town is a good transport hub connected to almost every corner of the island. The only problem is that buses run quite rarely, about once an hour. They are blue in color and travel through Kamala and Surin to Bang Tao. The distance to the airport and to Phuket Town is approximately the same - about twenty kilometers.

Why go to the beach "Kamala"

Phuket is so popular with tourists that finding a cozy place where the locals are not too spoiled by vacationers, and the prices are not too high, is quite difficult. But it is here that all these bonuses are combined, and there is practically not a single minus. Therefore, people tend to come here who stop for a long vacation - three to four weeks at least. And if during the season the south of this resort can be filled with people - due to the influx of people from Patong - then its northern part still remains a reserved area. Although the infrastructure of the resort is not very developed, most hotels have everything you need. It is also a paradise for divers. After all, the beach "Kamala" (Phuket) boasts beautiful coral reefs, located not very far from the coast.

Marine vacation

Kamala is good for swimming and sunbathing. The beach is quite long - it stretches for one and a half to two kilometers along a very picturesque bay overgrown with palm trees, so there is enough space for everyone. and petty. The descent into the water is gentle, but the waves are not very strong. Sunbeds and sun loungers are expensive. They are mainly concentrated in the south and in the center of the resort. There they cost about two hundred baht a day. There is a developed tourist infrastructure, a lot of water activities and massage parlors right on the beach. A little further you can go to any beach bar, order something - and lie on their inventory as much as you want. But already in the very north you will have to make do with your own or hotel beach towels. But there are almost no people here, and the water is very clean and transparent. This is because in the north of Kamala beach there are almost no different skis, bananas and scooters. But do not forget that it is dangerous to swim here during the rainy season, because very strong undercurrents begin.

What else to do here

Firstly, this resort is famous for the whole Phuket theme park Fantasea, where people come from all over the island. Grandiose performances are played there, where not only hundreds of people, but also animals participate. There is also a wonderful restaurant "Golden Kinnaria". His amazing buffet is legendary. To get there, you need to buy an entrance ticket to the park and pay extra for visiting. Secondly, one of the fashionable entertainments in Kamala is a parachute flight to view the resort from above. And if you do not dare to do this, you can climb to the top of the Khao Phonthurat hill. There is an excellent observation deck from where you can see the entire Kamala beach, which you can do from there, it turns out amazing. After all, the resort is covered with tropical forests, climbing the rocks.

Where to eat

Even if there are no such grand shopping centers with food courts as in Patong, their absence is more than compensated by various kiosks with delicious and fresh Thai food. In addition, the main street of the resort is replete with restaurants and cafes where you can eat both for big money and not so much. And the beach itself is full of macaques and other peddlers. French and Italian cuisine is very popular in Kamala, so if you have the funds and want to eat with a real chef, visit places like La Carbonara, Basilico and White Orchid. Delicious seafood, especially, is cooked in Rockfish, Sweet Dreams and Ponds establishments.

What and where to buy

As already mentioned, there are no large shopping centers here, but small shops are everywhere. Tourists buy here everything they need for relaxation - mattresses, towels, mats, flip flops, swimwear and more. Souvenirs, simple clothes and shoes are also sold at affordable prices. Since Kamala Beach (Phuket) - reviews confirm this - is the Muslim part of Thailand, the main market here is open on Fridays. Come and you won't regret it. So many goodies, including dried exotic fruits, as well as branded items at ridiculous prices, you will not find anywhere else.

What to watch

In the south of the resort there is a rather interesting Buddhist temple with beautiful modern paintings illustrating the life of Gautama. Nearby is a cozy park with a memorial to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. It is known that the village of Kamala was wiped off the face of the earth by this terrible catastrophe, and then completely rebuilt. In addition to the Fantazea park, where a theatrical and circus performance about the ancient prince of Kamala unfolds with dances, various special effects and a demonstration of ancient Thai magic, you can visit other shows that take place in the Elephant Palace. And on Fridays, the most famous bar in the area - "Skyla" - organizes a disco with professional DJs.

Resort hotels

Hotels on Kamala Beach (Phuket) are mainly located along Beach Road. Unlike most resorts on the island, there is no road between the local hotels and the sea, so here you can find hotels on the first line from the sea. Of the luxurious five-star palaces, the most popular are Aiyara Resort, Cape Sienna Hotel and Villas and Naka Phuket. Ayara Kamala is located on a hill, quite far from the beach, but its rooms offer great views, and a free shuttle takes you to the sea.

But "Cape Sienna", on the contrary, is located on the ocean. Therefore, all its rooms and villas (some have not only their own kitchens and private pools, but even wine cellars) have sea views.

"Fours" are usually located across the street from the beach. The best of them are Aquamarine and Swissotel. The latter is interesting in that it is located not too far from the Phuket shopping center "Jangseylon", and besides, it has its own mini-water park.

Hotels on the beach "Kamala" (Phuket, 1 line) are also three-star. There are few of them, they are unpretentious, but very functional. An example is the Kamala Beach Inn. There are many cheap guesthouses and apartments in the resort, such as Tara Hotel, Baan Hostel and so on.

Thailand, beach "Kamala" (Phuket): reviews

This corner of the island is very popular with couples, lovers and young people seeking solitude. The beach is more loved by the French, Germans and other Europeans, there are not very many Russians here. But those who have visited this region call Kamala the best place in Phuket. There are few tourists, clear water, white clean sand, and everything you need is there. Plenty of shade from the palm trees that grow everywhere. There are even semi-wild beaches where you will hardly meet people. Besides, you won't get bored here. People rest mostly decent. Reviews about hotels in Phuket (Kamala Beach) are very positive. Staying in five-star hotels is called an elite vacation, complete relaxation and luxury pastime. But there are also excellent reviews about cheaper hotels, especially about the ratio of price, quality and services. Some hotels have a good view of the sea, others have all the conditions for a romantic vacation or a holiday with children. Come!
