Krasnogvardeyskaya bus station (AS) in Moscow owes its name to the metro station of the same name, which is located just a few tens of meters from it.

The popularity of this bus station for intercity bus routes to southern destinations is explained by its proximity to the Moscow Ring Road and the presence of two metro stations at once (in addition to Krasnogvardeyskaya, Zyablikovo station, which is even closer to the AS). Experienced passengers try to choose routes with a minimum distance for buses along the streets of megacities. The metro runs multiple times, and during traffic jams, it is ten times faster.

Of the long-distance flights indicated in the Krasnogvardeyskaya bus station schedule, the most popular routes are:

  • Astrakhan (daily);
  • Vladikavkaz (daily, on pre-holiday days, usually one additional flight);
  • Volgograd (three flights daily);
  • Volgodonsk (about five flights daily, several more flights on pre-holiday days);
  • Volzhsky (daily);
  • Gelendzhik (daily);
  • Yeisk (usually every other day);
  • Chisinau (daily);
  • Krasnodar (usually two or three flights per day, sometimes direct before the holidays);
  • Rostov-on-Don (daily two or three direct flights and about a dozen passing ones, which, most often, do not go to the Main and Suburban (Old) bus stations of Rostov, but make a stop in the suburbs, since they pass through Aksai);
  • Svetlograd (daily, additional flights before major holidays);
  • Taganrog (daily);
  • Cherkessk (daily, additional flights on holidays);
  • Elista (four flights daily, on holidays the number of flights usually doubles).

In addition to major holidays, which increase the number of days off, carriers put additional buses on routes before the start and end of student holidays. The number of flights also increases during the holiday season, especially on routes to the Black Sea.
