    Beach at Van Phong Bay

    Nha Trang, Van Phong Bay

The beach at Van Phong Bay will not be the closest point to Nha Trang if you are staying at this resort. But in addition to the beaches of the city, it’s definitely worth going to sunbathe and swim in Van Phong Bay - one of the most picturesque in all of Vietnam.

    Hon Mun Island Beach

    Nha Trang, Hon Mun Island

The picturesque island of Hon Mun is located just 11 km from Nha Trang, if you drive from the South Port, again in a southerly direction. This island deserves special attention from tourists, as it is a marine reserve and the best place for diving in the South China Sea.

    Paragon Hotel Beach

The beach of the Paragon Hotel (The Paragon 3*) is considered a luxury beach in Nha Trang. It is located on the territory of a three-star hotel, but entry here is open not only to its guests. The main advantage of the beach is its well-developed infrastructure and the proximity to all points of the city.

Nha Trang is considered one of the most popular and best resorts in Vietnam, attracting thousands of tourists every year. They directly say about this city - “the beach capital of Vietnam,” which means that it is worth going here specifically for a beach holiday. At the same time, spending time on the beaches of Nha Trang can be anything: either traditional beach relaxation or more active activities. You can spend time on the beaches not only during the day, but also at night - the best discos and open-air parties in Vietnam are held in Nha Trang.

All the beaches of Nha Trang are amazingly picturesque. It seems that tropical greenery, azure water and snow-white sand are straight out of an advertising picture. However, all this can be seen live here. In the center of the resort there are beaches with the most developed infrastructure. There are many more vacationers here, but the service is also at a decent level. Moreover, it is convenient to get here from anywhere in the city. The quieter beaches are located outside the city - here you can enjoy solitude in the lap of picturesque nature.

They say so directly about Nha Trang - “the beach capital of Vietnam,” which means that it’s worth going here specifically for a beach holiday.

The bay where the city of Nha Trang is located ranks 29th on the list of the most beautiful bays on the planet. The city beach area of Nha Trang stretches for 7 km, and the entire coastline is completely covered with snow-white sand made of tiny particles of shells. It is thanks to shells, which are a kind of natural filter, that the water near the shore is very clean and transparent.

Upon closer inspection, the fragments of shells are multi-colored and very bright, but on the beach itself the sand appears white.

Many people consider the beaches of Nha Trang to be not very clean, but this is only true for beaches outside the city, for wild beaches where no one monitors cleanliness, and even then, provided that these beaches are visited by a large number of people. Most tourists prefer the central beaches, which are well equipped and cleaned every morning.

Beaches of Nha Trang

All beaches are municipal; entry to most beaches is free, but you will have to pay a certain amount to rent a sun lounger or umbrella. Each beach is equipped with showers and toilets, many changing rooms, lifeguard towers and a first-aid post. In short, everything here is done for a comfortable and convenient tourist holiday.

Along the beach area of Nha Trang there is a boulevard of tall coconut palms - in their shade you can hide from the scorching sun.

Some beaches, those located on the islands, belong to hotels (for example, Ana Mandara Beach Resort 5 * or Sofitel), the rest are under the jurisdiction of city authorities. The beach of the Paragon Hotel is accessible to vacationers “from the street”; admission is free, but you will need to pay extra for sun loungers. Among the municipal ones, pay attention to the Central City Beach - it is most crowded at the height of the season, the 15 km long Bai Dai Beach and the Van Phong Bay Beach. Of the wild beaches, it is worth noting Monkey Island and Jungle Beach.

  • Where to stay: In colorful Ho Chi Minh City - ancient Saigon, where there are luxury hotels and ultra-budget guesthouses, and a whole bunch of attractions in the area. Fans of beach holidays have a direct route to popular Nha Trang, “lazy” Tuy Hoa, family-friendly Phan Thiet and surfer Mui Ne. Vung Tau will delight you with its developed infrastructure,

The beach in Nha Trang, what is it like? It's long. The length of the beach is about 5 kilometers. Wide. Sunbathing tourists do not take up all the space. Quite clean for a city. We like the beach in Nha Trang. On the very first day, as soon as we saw him, the desire to swim in the sea and lie on the sand immediately arose.

Nha Trang beach

The advantage of the beach is that it is surrounded by mountains and islands. It's nice to walk and see such beauty from all sides. Sun loungers belong to hotels on the coast. But if you wish, you can rent them. This pleasure will cost about 100 thousand dong ($5).

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

Sea in Nha Trang: is it possible to swim?

Yes. According to our observations, the optimal time for swimming in Nha Trang is from 8 to 10 am. At this time, the water in the sea is perfectly clean and calm. See for yourself:

The sea in Nha Trang without waves can be found until about 10-11 am

The closer it gets to the evening, the larger the waves, and this causes the water to become cloudy and turn brown. Also, by lunchtime the current carries out garbage that you don’t want to swim with. After all, it is so unpleasant to touch something in the water while swimming, some bags or cups.

We are waiting for the weather by the sea

Perhaps the waves and the purity of the water in the sea depend on the season. In some months, it is quite possible that the water remains clean all day, but in September and October you can only find clear sea in the morning.

There are always fewer tourists in the far left corner of the beach (behind Nha Trang center) and in the far right (towards the cable car to Vinpearl).

Who is on holiday in Nha Trang?

The contingent of vacationers on the beaches of Nha Trang consists largely of Russian women 45-60 years old and their husbands. Interesting feature. The second place is occupied by married couples with children and, last but not least, young people. Nationalities: Russians 70%, Vietnamese 20%, Europeans, Chinese and other foreign tourists - 10%.

Our observations

During our 2 months of living in Nha Trang, we noticed the following features of tourists. Mostly our compatriots who have flown in from Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk, Perm and other Siberian regions vacation here. As a rule, ladies spend their holidays in Vietnam with their children, less often with their husbands. If with her husband, he usually has a mustache, his face expresses slight dissatisfaction, he is tense, constrained, dressed in an oversized wrinkled linen shirt and a captain’s cap, always a little tipsy.

- We’ll have lobster for lunch again, and then we’ll go to the pearl shop that the guide recommended
- Don't forget about crocodile skin wallets!

- We’ll tell Lyudka where we were - she won’t believe it!

Vietnamese people go to the beach around 5-6 pm, when the sun stops getting hot and they can be calm about their skin color. They usually swim in groups opposite the lifeguard post.

For some reason, Vietnamese children are most often ill-mannered, arrogant and noisy, and often get underfoot, stepping on them. We have become unaccustomed to children's crying and screaming; in Vietnam, children are very capricious and disobedient. They also noticed more than once that the Vietnamese were beating them. This has not been seen in other Asian countries. And one boy was the star of the evening. His parents did their best and cut his hair so fashionably that he was different from all the children and passers-by could not pass by.

There are no stray bald dogs on the beach

Another advantage of the beach. For a month we have not seen a single stray dog on the beach, which we are so used to in other countries. Vietnamese people sometimes relax on the beach with their pets. Just like in Thailand, purebred dogs are now in fashion in Vietnam. It’s upsetting that the Vietnamese get such small decorative dogs. We have observed more than once how child predators behave with them. Apparently, they don’t understand that a dog is a living organism, and not a toy. And bikes, including on sidewalks, can pose a danger to a small dog.

Some caring owners keep their pets warm, because it’s +27 outside in October

Promenade along the beach in Nha Trang

The embankment plays a big role on Nha Chang Beach. The embankment is our favorite place in all of Nha Trang because it is the only place where you can walk peacefully, since mopeds are prohibited on it.

Famous lotus in Nha Trang

View of the hotels from the embankment

Vietnamese flag on the square near the lotus

In the evenings, dancing and singing are often held near the local cultural center

During the day the square is empty, and in the evening Vietnamese teenagers switch from bikes to skateboards and rollers

The embankment has a relatively calm atmosphere and there is no noise from the road.

View from the road

We come to the embankment every day. We walk, sit on benches or buy nuts and settle down on the sand.

Photo of the beach from the embankment

Just a few years ago there was no sign of any improved embankment here. And now even the trees are trimmed in a designer style.

Vietnamese and sports

Towards evening, the Vietnamese occupy the embankment for sports. They take care of their figure and health. Some are running, some are working on exercise machines, some are just waving their arms with a serious look. Very athletic guys!

Vietnamese people play sports

The embankment makes a great contribution to the life of the Vietnamese people. It is a place to relax, a place to walk the dog, a place to exercise, and a place to gather and eat while sitting on the beach. For us, the embankment became a lifeline. The only place in Nha Trang where sometimes you don’t even want to go home.

Nha Trang Beach reviews

For our fastidious taste, the beach in Nha Trang is very good. It's clean, there's plenty of space, and there are no annoying traders. The sand, however, is not ideal, coarse and yellow. The water in the sea is clean and transparent only in the morning, by lunchtime garbage appears, the waves get stronger and it becomes cloudy. But this is most likely a seasonal phenomenon; in other months it may be cleaner, but we were in September and October. So, we noted that it is best to swim in Nha Trang early in the morning.

Since Nha Trang Beach is public, everyone will relax on it, tourists from expensive hotels, the local middle class, and even occasionally Russian rednecks (“tagiiil”) come across. Apparently, some highly cultured citizens got fed up with Turkey and headed for exotic Vietnam. But I’m glad that there are only a few of them, basically all of our compatriots here are very decent.

We can’t say that October is the best month for a holiday in Nha Trang, but it’s not the worst either. It is in October that the feeling of Vietnamese autumn begins. Autumn is not like ours, with a sharp drop in temperature and heavy rains (there is rain, but it starts towards the end of the month and occurs in the evening and at night). It won't be cold, daytime temperatures are between 27-30 degrees. This weather can be called acceptable for relaxation, but in Nha Trang, where you are going to go on vacation, there may be strong winds and, as a result, rough seas.

The most popular beach in Nha Trang is called Nha Trang Beach. The infrastructure on this beach is excellent; there is everything you need for a beach holiday and water activities. On this beach you can always meet Russian-speaking vacationers. There are many bars and restaurants. But this beach has two significant disadvantages. The first disadvantage is that the beach is too crowded, there is almost always nowhere to fall (if you like this kind of crowd, then you will definitely like it). The second disadvantage (more significant) is precisely that there is a very strong tidal war on this beach. This phenomenon begins just in October and continues until the end of February - beginning of March. If the waves cause you great inconvenience or you are going on vacation with a child, then this beach is not worth considering.

Not for free, but at the same time not for very much money, you can relax on Paragon Beach. This beach belongs to the hotel of the same name and is the smallest beach in Nha Trang. The sandy zone occupies only 100 meters. In general, the beach is located in one of the most prestigious areas of Nha Trang, where wealthy tourists relax. In this regard, everything here is clean, civilized, neat and done in such a way that you can relax with children, since there are no waves here (their formation is prevented by an artificially poured pier). It is this beach that you should pay attention to first, as it is better to pay and relax in good conditions. Also on this beach the water is warmer than on Nha Trang Beach. Again, the main disadvantage of this beach is the large crowd of people, but with such a small area this is not surprising. The beach can also be called boring due to the fact that there is no infrastructure or entertainment here (even shops and cafes).

A small, crowded, but very interesting beach is located on Vinpearl Island. This is not only a beach, but also an entire amusement park. You can get to this beach by cable car, which is considered one of the longest in the world. There are practically no waves on this beach, but people come here primarily for entertainment, and only then for a beach holiday. For the several thousand vacationers who visit this park every day, there is not enough space on the beach.

Those who are not satisfied with crowded beaches are advised to go a little further. 40 kilometers from Nha Trang there is an excellent beach with clean white sand – Zoklet. Waves here, if there are any, are small in size. This beach has two exits: for tourists and for locals. It is best to use the second option, since in this case you can save on food (seafood) and various infrastructure. Many tourists rent a bike and go there on their own. The road to the beach lies through Vietnamese villages, which are not spoiled by tourist attention, so you can eat inexpensively there and buy various foods and drinks.

Closer to Nha Trang, just 15 kilometers away is the calm Bai Zai Beach. Previously, this place was a military base, and now it is a popular beach among both locals and tourists. There are no waves here, the entrance to the beach is gentle, but the big drawback is that the beach is dirty and the service leaves much to be desired (many tourists do not pay attention to this).

Giang Beach can be called a truly paradise beach, but its significant drawback is that it is located far from Nha Trang and many tourists who decide to go there stay there overnight. The beach has clean sand, clear sea, in a word, great conditions, but the long distance is a significant disadvantage, because of which many tourists vacationing in Nha Trang do not get there.

Even in October, you can easily find a good beach where there are no waves, but you will have to choose between crowded city beaches or go outside of Nha Trang.

Paragon Hotel Beach, (Nha Trang, Vietnam) - location, description, opening hours, entertainment and infrastructure. Useful tips and practical information from “Subtleties of Tourism”.

The beach is located in the center of Nha Trang, and no matter where you stay, it will be convenient to get here on foot, by public transport, or for a very reasonable price by taxi.

The area in which the Paragon Hotel is located, along with its magnificent beach, can be called the “Nha Trang Rublevka” - it is considered elite and the most expensive in the city. There are luxury villas and apartments for rent here, as well as several excellent hotels, including Paragon. The hotel's beach has excellent conditions for recreation for every taste. And, perhaps, such active entertainment will not be available here as, for example, on the Central City Beach, but here you can enjoy peace and quiet.

The beach of the Paragon Hotel is located in the center of Nha Trang, and no matter where you stay, it will be convenient to walk here, take public transport or, for a very reasonable price, take a taxi.

Entrance to the beach is available to everyone, moreover, it is free. However, you will have to shell out a pretty penny to rent a sun lounger and parasol. You are unlikely to be able to sit on a towel here, because the entire beach is occupied by sun loungers. But the sun loungers here are truly luxury class - with soft mattresses on which you can lie all day. It is precisely because of the relatively high price for renting beach equipment that there is not a large influx of tourists here, which is why the beach is considered elite.

The beach at the Paragon Hotel is quiet and calm even in high season. The best time to visit it is considered to be the months from April to October. This beach is artificial; the coastal waters are separated from the open sea by a small dam, which protects them from high waves and strong winds. There are excellent conditions for families with children, the descent into the sea is gentle, the bottom is flat, without stones. The sand is not natural, but imported, but it is amazingly soft. The beach itself is very clean - the hotel staff carefully monitor this.

Local fishermen live on small islands opposite the beach, which creates an amazing contrast: on one side there are luxurious villas, and on the other there are colorful fishing huts.

The beach line is not too wide, since the hotel territory is located above. And the beach is not too long, but even despite this, there are no crowds of tourists here. This is probably why there is not a lot of entertainment offered here, with the exception of jet skis. And you won’t see cafes and restaurants on the beach - after all, there is a hotel nearby, the beach of which was originally intended only for guests. It is necessary to take care of meals in advance or have a snack at the restaurant of the Paragon Hotel.

Paragon Hotel and its beach

Practical information

Getting to the beach of the Paragon Hotel is not difficult - public transport runs here, and all local taxi drivers know where it is. The hotel is located in the south of the city, not far from the cable car to the Vinperl entertainment island.

Entrance to the beach is free.

Address: Nha Trang, An Vien Eco-tourism Area-Vinh Nguyen Ward.

Paragon Beach is located in the southern part of Nha Trang. Paragon beach is known for being a beach without waves at any time of the year. When the main beach is stormy, everyone goes for a swim at Paragon. You can easily get to Paragon from Nha Trang on your own by bus No. 4.

Review of Paragon Beach

To be honest, there’s not much to see here. The beach is very tiny. The entire beach was included in the photo at the beginning of the article. 10-15 umbrellas with sun loungers, a small strip of pleasant fine sand and a fenced backwater for swimming without waves. That's the whole beach.

A beautiful view of the mountains opens from the Paragon beach sun loungers

But people come here not for sunbeds and sand, but for a beach without waves. Often in winter and sometimes even in summer there is a storm on the central sea, the water becomes cloudy and carries out garbage. And on Paragon, at any time of the year, peace and quiet.

Most tourists come to Paragon Beach to swim with children, since it is safe to swim in the sea with a child here, there is no depth, no waves, no dangerous currents.

Why are there no waves on Paragon? Firstly, due to the “artificial spit” or stone embankment, which closes the reservoir from the sea. There is also a bay here where there are no waves, thanks to its location. The stone embankment and this peculiar pool, apparently, were supposed to serve as a parking lot for yachts and boats of residents of the local elite village. But then, apparently, it turned out that no one here really had yachts, so they decided to make a beach.

The left side of the artificial bay. Several boats still moor here

Beach features: paid entrance, no toilet, nowhere to eat

  • Entrance to the beach costs 20 thousand dong ($1)
  • Sunbeds cost 60 thousand dong ($3)

The beach belongs to the hotel Paragon Hotel. If you stay at this hotel, you do not pay for entrance and sunbeds. If you just come on your own, you will have to pay at least the entrance fee. It is not necessary to take sun loungers; you can lie down on your own mat. During high season there may not be enough sun loungers for everyone. We came here in January, there were free sun loungers.

As of 2017, there are still no toilets and showers. Also, there is not a single cafe directly near the beach. There is nowhere to eat or buy water; you need to take something to snack with you.

Where can I order a transfer from the airport?

We ordered a taxi online and paid by card. We were met at the airport with a sign with our name on it. We were taken to the hotel in a comfortable car. You've already talked about your experience In this article.

They haven’t written about this in other blogs, but on the main street of the cottage village, on the territory of which this beach is located, there is one cafe with the original name “U Kolya”, a restaurant with a Russian menu. From the beach it takes about 5 minutes in a straight line; it is located a little further than the Paragon Hotel on the main street.

Embankment with palm trees

A little further from the beach there is a concrete embankment where you can walk or take a photo with a beautiful view of the bay and mountains. There is no embankment, nowhere to sit, not a single bench. If only you sit on the edge. They probably wanted to do it well, but it turned out as always.

An Vien village

As I said above, the beach is located on the territory of the elite village of An Vien. Elite by Vietnamese standards. Yes, the villas are cool, of course, I don’t argue, they’re clean and modern. But it seemed to us that everything was somehow unkempt and uncomfortable, there was construction everywhere, just like in Nha Trang. Entrance to the village is free; at the checkpoint the guards do not ask anything.

Paragon Beach in Nha Trang reviews, pros and cons

I don’t know why everyone praises it so much, but among ourselves we jokingly call this beach a ditch. Shallow, stagnant water, unkempt territory on either side, abandoned construction site and stones. In our fastidious opinion, Paragon Beach is nothing. We didn't even go swimming.

If it were not for the mountains and beach umbrellas, then Paragon Beach resembles a river somewhere near Chelyabinsk

But don’t take our words seriously, since this beach has one undeniable advantage - it is a beach without waves in Nha Trang at any time of the year. Therefore, this is where you can normally swim with children when there are big waves on the other beaches of Nha Trang. So, if you want to know which beach has no waves, then come to Paragon, but don’t expect anything special and exotic from it.

How to get to Paragon Beach from Nha Trang

You can get to Paragon Beach on your own by public transport or by taxi. A metered taxi will cost between 60-100 thousand dong.

It's cheaper by bus. Just take bus number 4 in the European quarter, which goes towards Vinpearl (south). Drive to the final stop. The fare costs 7 thousand dong, payment to the conductor. If you are asked to leave a little earlier than the final one with the words “Vinpearl”, then just say “Paragon Beach”. When we went to the beach, they wanted to drop us off one stop before the final one near some ticket office where they sell tickets for Vinpearl, but we said that we were going to Paragon.

From the final stop you need to go back a little, about 50 meters, then turn left and go through the arch and the entrance gate to the village of An Vien. Entrance to the village is free, the guards will not ask anything.

Entrance to the village of An Vien

Once you have passed the entrance with the arch, you can immediately turn left, walk to the sea, and then along the coast to the beach. It's just a 10 minute walk from the bus.
