Bulgarian resorts on the map, where are the best places to go. Where is the best place to relax in Bulgaria?

The long coastline, clean water and warm fine sand, so valued by European tourists - all this makes a large number very popular, and this popularity is growing from year to year. You can vacation in different places every year, while getting new emotions and impressions, because each place from our rating today has its own unique features and advantages over others. It is difficult to rank large cities with a century-old history and small resort complexes, but you can come up with nominations for them. So, for a seaside holiday for every taste, we are waiting for you in today’s article.

So, in first place in the ranking of the most famous outside the country the best resorts in Bulgaria by the sea, of course, Varna. This city is a real dream come true for all Soviet residents 30-40 years ago, a kind of Bulgarian analogue of Sochi or Yalta, where many interesting things were collected. A huge number of tourists still come here who like to combine a beach holiday with an educational one, and also want, as they say, to plunge into social life.

Varna is not a cheap pleasure for tourists traveling to. In local hotels, a room can cost you 2 times more than in smaller resort complexes. And despite the fact that there are no ideal beaches in Varna itself, you will have to get to everything additionally. Among the advantages is excellent infrastructure. The presence of not only an airport, but also a good transport interchange, so that if you wish, from here you can quickly and conveniently get to any point on the Bulgarian coast. For those who want to get the full impression of a resort holiday, full of cafes, clubs, restaurants and parks, with visits to museums and excursions for every taste, Varna is definitely worth choosing.

The most beautiful city in the ranking the best resorts in Bulgaria by the sea, undoubtedly, Nessebar is a city with a huge history, the entire old part of which (it is located on a peninsula separated from the coastline) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s worth going here for those who love history, who want to get into the spirit of the old Orthodox country, whose culture combines so many traditions, and this mixture turned out to be very bizarre. Can this vacation be called a purely beach vacation? As in the case of Varna, probably not, but if you are of school age, curious and energetic, then it is in such places that you will find the maximum number of interesting sights.

If for you the concept of “expensive” is identical to the concept of “good”, then you need to consider the options for the most expensive among the best seaside resorts in Bulgaria. Rating, compiled by tour operators, gives the palm among all Bulgarian holiday destinations in the premium segment to Riviera, a complex located near Varna.

Since the Riviera complex is quite small, consisting of several hotels, you need to make reservations here in advance. For a lot of money you will find the right level of service, good beaches, mineral springs, a well-groomed park area, a quiet, relaxing holiday. It is the Riviera hotels that are consistently included in the ratings of the best hotels on the entire Black Sea coast.

Not far behind the Riviera is another small town, which over the course of several decades has transformed from a fishing village into a fashionable resort. We are talking about it is called a resort of millionaires for its features, for example, for an ideally equipped bay with a berth for ships and yachts, where the richest people not only in Bulgaria, but also in the neighboring countries keep their watercraft (worth hundreds of thousands of euros). The port itself and the Marina embankment leave a wonderful impression on any tourist, especially since here you can watch the annual sailing regatta, a major event even on a national scale.

A closed resort that operates on the popular all-inclusive system is Elenite. In our best Bulgarian seaside resorts ranking it can be considered one of the most closed. It has everything that you can find in an ordinary resort town, but in concentrated form in a small area. These include restaurants, shops, tennis courts, large swimming pools, a riding club, and a water park. All this makes Elenite a resort from which you don’t even need to leave, since everything you need is literally at hand.

Among luxury complexes, Ravda is considered the champion in security. It is located 1.5 kilometers from Nessebar and is considered an excellent village for children and youth recreation. must have all the qualities that Ravda has: it is very clean, a safe protected area, a mild climate and good beaches.

The best resorts in Bulgaria by the sea

Not all tourists who discover Bulgaria need respectability. Most often, young people are interested in completely different categories, so for them the list the best resorts in Bulgaria by the sea has been heading Sunny Beach for many years. And this is not only because of its two beaches, which are marked with a blue flag, a valuable quality mark for every beach resort, but also because of the abundance of entertainment and accommodation for every taste and budget.

When you come to Sunny Beach, you can be sure that your vacation will be very successful. But only if you have a good attitude towards a large number of people, cheerful discos, an abundance of beach attractions and everything like that, you will definitely not be bored. Even nature itself has taken care of your holiday impressions, since the local beach is located precisely on the eastern side and it is here that you can watch majestic sunrises (if you are able to watch them after evening discos).

Even more exciting is the Golden Sands resort complex, which is a real Mecca for young people. You should immerse yourself in its atmosphere, just like in Spanish Ibiza, to the fullest, but lovers of a quiet family holiday should still consider a holiday in any village in the neighborhood. Or do not choose hotels located on the 1st and 2nd lines, as well as near the central embankment. But here you will find incredibly warm water, which does not cool down to a cool temperature even at night. That is why very often tourists choose Golden Sands for a holiday in or even at the beginning of October, which becomes significantly empty with the start of the school year.

In addition to Sunny Beach and Golden Sands, popular and high-quality holiday destinations include the village of St. Constantine and Elena, which is located near Varna. But besides the clubs and restaurants, you can still improve your health here, as the Bulgarian aristocrats did for many years when they came here. There are magnificent ancient parks and many mineral springs.

The best seaside resorts in Bulgaria: rating

Children are the main target audience that tour operators are counting on when offering tours to Bulgaria, because the mild climate, quality food, warm sea and all this close to home and relatively cheap - all these factors are very important for every caring parent. If we highlight among ranking of the best seaside resorts in Bulgaria the most children's, then Kranevo will be in first place, with its famous and beloved by children water park "Aqua-Life". It’s not for nothing that most local hotels are designed to accommodate a large number of children’s and youth groups; in each hotel you will find decent animation, rental of sports equipment, bicycles, so you won’t have to think about what to do with little fidgets.

Most often, Kranevo is recognized as an ideal place for children to relax with its spacious and clean beaches. But parents can also be advised to pay attention to the town. There, in addition to beaches with blue flags, children will find the Castle entertainment complex.

The best resorts in Bulgaria by the sea

Before this, we mostly told you about the best resorts in Bulgaria by the sea, which are widely known to our tourists. But there are also several interesting places that still remain almost a purely Bulgarian place, which the Bulgarians themselves are not too eager to reveal. Most often, such towns and villages are very calm and quiet, where you can admire the unique Black Sea wildlife and get a real charge of health and vigor for the whole next year. In addition, as in all places “for one’s own,” prices here will be much lower than in well-promoted complexes and resort towns.

Find out more about the fishing village of Lozenets, because besides the fact that, according to biologists, this is the cleanest sea on the entire coast, this is also where all seafood lovers can take their souls away. In the immediate vicinity of the Strandja Mountains, on the coastline, which consists of six beaches, you will find a dozen different cafes and small restaurants where you can taste the fresh catch of fish and mussels, squid and octopus, crabs and shrimp. Such a vacation will become a real holiday that will be remembered for another whole year.

If you love wild nature and this is why you value protected sea areas, then be sure to take a closer look at Primorsko and Kiten. They are located at a distance of 5 kilometers from each other and they hold the first places in the ranking of the most interesting in terms of natural diversity. You can visit the island of St. Thomas to watch turtles, enjoy the views of blooming water lilies, and look at the wildlife of the Black Sea coast. It is in Primorsko that surfers love to come, for whom the northern beach, open to all winds, is ideal. But the southern side is perfect for children's recreation, the descent into the sea is gentle, and the water is very warm.

But in these places, get ready to plunge into the local Bulgarian flavor, so don’t expect fashionable conditions and faceless chain hotels. On the other hand, everyone chooses the type of vacation that gives them the most pleasure; all that remains is to choose a resort that will ideally satisfy all your needs.

I love Bulgaria very much. Once upon a time, it was with her that my interest in foreign countries and Europe began. Having already visited many other countries, I was finally able to look here. Bulgaria will always remain a special place for me - it is similar to Turkey, Germany, and Russia, and therefore combines many of the advantages of the countries listed above. Bulgaria is also good because there are low prices for hotels, fruits, vegetables, food in restaurants and cafes, trips and excursions. The beaches here are clean and comfortable, suitable for a simple beach holiday for any Russian family.

Bulgaria is a beautiful country, picturesque and similar enough to Russia that you can travel around it without any worries. Bulgaria, of course, is not all interesting for tourists: mostly there are small towns and villages, half-abandoned, on simple plains. But there is also a stunning city - the capital Sofia, which is half like a Russian city, half like a German city and at the same time very authentic. The photo below shows the Golden Sands resort.

And the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria is absolutely breathtaking. There are incredibly beautiful traditional seaside towns, recently restored by the state, large resorts with large hotels and large-format beaches, as well as wild bays where you can come by bus or car to enjoy their pristine beauty.

Beach holiday

Beach holidays in Bulgaria belong to the Black Sea coast. There are small towns with boutique hotels and apartments for rent, large resorts with large chain hotels and entire tourist towns, as well as small villages with picturesque bays for a quiet, secluded holiday. For example, like in Sveti Vlas in the photo below.

Beach holidays in Bulgaria are especially good due to the climate. Usually all the cities and villages on the coast are small, they have clean and pleasant air, there are no traffic jams or increased traffic, or the noise of a big city. Another plus is the spacious sandy beaches for those who are tired of pebbles and who are sensitive to this vacation destination. The brightest and cleanest beaches are in Pomorie, near Burgas. And here is a gorgeous color.

I visited many cities in Bulgaria, traveled all over the country, somewhere I was only two or three days, somewhere for two or even three or four weeks, and I can say with confidence that almost every place could become home for me: It's beautiful, cheap and clean here. I would say that Bulgaria is a wonderful place to relax and live!

Conventionally, in Bulgaria there are four regions for beach holidays, marked on the map with stars of different colors. The North belongs to such resorts as Varna and Golden Sands; these are the most popular resorts where many Russians have been vacationing for many years. From north to south, the list of Bulgarian resorts looks like this:

  • Varna is a large city with large shops and a port (there is also a beach here), and Golden Sands is an artificially created and very neat and beautiful resort village. These two resorts are located on the north coast.
  • The center belongs to, Nessebar and, where in Nessebar you can plunge into Bulgarian culture, in Sunny Beach you can swim, and in Sveti Vlas you can relax from the hustle and bustle surrounded by green hills of wondrous beauty.
  • Burgas is good for those who want to come to a real resort city, and not an artificial one, to walk around the city, streets, shops and parks, which is not the case in most Bulgarian resorts. At the same time, Pomorie is a good place to relax with children, the water here is the cleanest, the entry into the sea is very gentle, simply the best in Bulgaria. is a great little village with a beautiful Old Town, which is very loved by Europeans.
  • And the wild south, where the villages of Sinemorets, Primorsko, Kiten and Ahtopol are located, is the last lower section for those who love a relaxing holiday by the sea in the wilderness, in the provinces, but with a pleasant climate and clean air. Below you will learn more about each region.

Varna and Golden Sands (north)

Varna is a large city with a population of 335 thousand people. There are a lot of places for walking, beautiful green alleys and parks, classical architecture, many shops, restaurants and hotels. The city lives more independently from tourists than other cities in Bulgaria, so it may be of interest to those who want to see real Bulgarian life with their own eyes. This city is perhaps the greenest of all. There are also good large beaches here that are convenient for tourists. The only negative is the presence of a port, which pollutes the surrounding waters. I would advise you to swim in Golden Sands, nearby, and go for a walk - specifically to Varna.

In August in Varna, an ideal vacation can be spent in a hotel for 50-60 USD per day for four in a good room of 40-60 square meters.

Golden Sands is a resort in which there are no local Bulgarian residents at all. Everyone who works here in the tourist service lives in Varna or at the hotel. Golden Sands is famous for its almost endless beaches, and the city itself, its streets, cafes and restaurants are very beautiful and well-kept.

In Golden Sands you can rent a room for four in a hotel on the first line for 100-200 USD in August and for 50 USD in a regular hotel.

Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Sveti Vlas (center)

Nessebar is a small traditional town on the peninsula, home to 22 thousand people, almost all of whom work in tourism. It is very pleasant to relax in this part of the country in peace and unity with the flavor of coastal Bulgaria. There is an Old Town with narrow streets, and a very large beach in the Sunny Beach area.

In the center of Nessebar you can rent a hotel room for four in August for about 60-100 USD.

Burgas is a very popular resort due to its low prices. In August, a room for four can easily be found for 40-50 USD.

Non-tourist areas

In principle, you can see the whole of Bulgaria if you focus on big cities and not urban villages. All of it is quite colorful, and the cities are very similar to each other, with tiled roofs in the old center and with panel and other low-rise apartment buildings in new areas. True, I advise you not to drive near the borders to Romania, Serbia and Macedonia, but the borders with Greece and Turkey are more friendly.

Where to go from Bulgaria

Many tourists who come to Bulgaria and realize that they are already in Europe are looking for which country else to visit during a 7-14-day trip. This is correct, since two absolutely incredible countries are located south of Bulgaria - and.

So, in Greece I advise you to visit, Kavala and Alexandroupolis, and in Turkey -.

How to get around Bulgaria

Many people choose the train as the best solution for those who do not like to get tired while traveling, but I suggest you modern air-conditioned buses. Traveling in them is quite comfortable, and there is much more privacy in relation to other passengers. Or you can rent a car and drive around the country on your own. Then, even in 14 days you can travel around absolutely the entire coast of Bulgaria, and in 7 days - half, which is also not bad!

To be honest, Bulgaria has never been a country for me that I would definitely like to go to. It's not that I wasn't interested in her at all. Just to see Italy, Spain or Greece I wanted a lot more. Apparently, somewhere in the subconscious there is a common saying: “ A chicken is not a bird, Bulgaria is not a foreign country» .

Although in Soviet times holiday in Bulgaria It was considered very cool. What has changed here since those times? I decided to fly and find out.

In addition, I found a tour where, in addition to visiting the resorts of Bulgaria, it included 2-day excursion to Istanbul . And I’ve been wanting to go to Istanbul for a long time. So, the tour was booked and the suitcases were packed.

In this article I will tell you which resorts I liked in Bulgaria, which hotels you can book and which excursions are worth visiting.

Bulgaria: first impressions

On the way to the airport, I kept doubting whether to take a warm windbreaker with me, or whether a light summer raincoat would be enough. It was mid-May on the calendar, and it was already quite summer heat in our city. And I decided: since it’s so hot here, I definitely won’t need a warm windbreaker in sunny Bulgaria.

When the plane descended and began to land at the airport Varna, I looked out the window and experienced an obsessive feeling of déjà vu. Below floated painfully familiar architectural structures in the form of block and panel houses built in the 70s and 80s of the last century, abundantly mixed with local Khrushchev buildings. If it were not for the seashore and the blue “drops” of hotel pools, these areas are very difficult to distinguish from similar ones somewhere in Samara. The similarity was complemented by the abundance of Zhilugev classics parked in courtyards and plying the roads.

Sunny Bulgaria greeted us with cloudy weather and not a resort temperature at all - at Varna airport it was only + 12 degrees. Having quickly run along the ramp to the bus that arrived (which was also clearly from the era of Soviet influence), I regretted leaving my windbreaker at home. And when we received our luggage, another “unexpected surprise” awaited us - the lights in the airport building suddenly went out, the escalators and the baggage belt froze, and an unusual silence hung in the building. In the light of the dim emergency lighting, the faces of the tourists did not even seem surprised, but rather frightened. Yes, that’s how the trip started, I thought.

Where to relax in Bulgaria: resorts and hotels

Golden Sands

Our first resort in the program – Golden Sands (“Zlaty Pyastsi” ). It is located 18 km from Varna and is famous for its fine golden quartz sand. While we were driving, I kept my camera at the ready - I always bring a lot of photos from my trips, from which it is easy to create a detailed report about the country. But somehow there were no successful shots - very ordinary residential areas floated past, and these were clearly not shots for the cover of National Geographic.

Half an hour later we arrived at the hotel Melia Grand Hermitage 5 *, who pleased us with the quick check-in and good rooms. But I didn’t really want to undress in the room - the temperature was not much warmer than outside. So we went for a walk.

In general, Golden Sands is conducive to leisurely walks. Along the beach, dividing it from the hotel area, there is a promenade, where at every step there are tents of souvenir sellers mixed with all sorts of cafes, restaurants, and shops. Everything was lit up, music was playing from everywhere, but there were almost no people anywhere - after all, May clearly does not spoil the resorts of Bulgaria with warm weather. So, to be honest, you should go here no earlier than June.

And dinner was not at the hotel. We were taken to Bulgarian evening . Everything there is as usual - traditional national songs and dances, tables with treats in a large room, stylized as antique. In short, a typical tourist spectacle. Usually no one pretends to high art (both in terms of choreography and cooking) in such establishments. But it would be at least illogical to vacation in Bulgaria and not attend such a national evening.

Hotels in Golden Sands

The next day was devoted to exploring hotels on Golden Sands. Most of them looked like a classic Soviet boarding house - buildings from the 70s and 80s, with corresponding interiors and rooms. I had the feeling that I had returned to my childhood and ended up in the Energetik boarding house on the embankment of my favorite Abkhaz resort of Gagra. But, on the other hand, maybe it is precisely this – nostalgia for the Soviet past – that attracts Russians to the resorts of Bulgaria?

If you are one of the nostalgic people, then you will be quite comfortable in the hotel SHIPKA 3* or ROYAL 3+*(quite good rooms, clean everywhere, 200-300 m to the sea). But in the TSAREVETS 2* or WARSHAVA 2* hotels, everything is already quite modest and clearly smacks of the last century. I would recommend them only if you really haven’t been anywhere before except the resorts of Abkhazia or Crimea. Or you're not just going to spend the night.

But there were also hotels of a different type. For example, the same "Admiral" 5*, located in the center of the resort, on the first line, is built in a modern style, and the rooms delight with new furniture and decoration, as well as bathrobes and slippers. From the same series hotels MARINA GRAND BEACH 4*, ATLAS 4* and PARK HOTEL ODESSOS 4*. From the “three rubles” newer and more interesting AKATSIA/GLADIOLA 3-4*(1 line), PERUNIKA 3*(150 m from the sea, next to 2 discos), LYULYAK 3* (good rooms, food and beautiful territory).

So, if you decide to spend your holidays in Bulgaria, in Golden Sands you can find accommodation for every taste and budget. We made this conclusion after completing our inspection of the hotels. And, having caught a taxi, with a clear conscience we went to see the sights of Varna.

Varna: what to see, where to go

The taxi took us to the Varna Seaside Park, which was slightly neglected, with a museum of military equipment closed for renovation, and with the same attributes for a park - children's playgrounds, attractions, a summer stage. And again there was a feeling that we were in one of the Russian seaside resorts. Having passed through the park, we turned onto one of the streets of Varna and soon found ourselves at the picturesque ancient ruins - Roman baths. In ancient times, in VII BC. e. Greek settlers from Miletus founded a city here on the site of a fishing village. After visiting Rome, where there are such ruins at every turn, it’s hard to surprise me with such things, but in general, traces of the ancient era always make any city more attractive in terms of tourism.

After the thermal baths we decided to walk around the city center. It consists of pedestrian streets lined with 2-3-story mansions from the beginning of the last century. It was noticeable that these antique objects required repair, for the mark of time in the form of peeling plaster, faded paint and having lost its original color on many of them was very noticeable.

All the first floors of the mansions are shops, cafes and souvenir shops. Globalization, of course, has penetrated into Bulgaria: all souvenirs are made in China, and leather goods and clothing are made in Turkey. We nevertheless came across locally produced products that had become islands in the international trade sea - cosmetics based on rose oil, famous since Soviet times, as well as clothes made in Bulgaria. Clearly capturing the market situation, signs of street vendors and menus in all kinds of food and entertainment establishments almost everywhere on the coast have been translated, in addition to English and German, into Russian.

However, on the streets of cities and resorts, apart from Bulgarian, almost exclusively Russian speech is heard. And Bulgarian signs practically do not need translation - the linguistic Slavic community, strengthened by a single Cyrillic alphabet, has an effect. So we felt at home in Varna.

In two large multi-storey stores located in the central square with a fountain, international brands and brands are represented - ZARA, MANGO, NEW YORKER, etc. Their prices are noticeably lower than in Russian similar stores.

It was getting dark, our strength was running out, and after catching a taxi, we went back to our hotel in Golden Sands. But after a hearty dinner at the hotel, strength appeared again from somewhere. It was decided to go to a nightclub and get acquainted with the nightlife of the resort.

The guide recommended it to us earlier in the day club "Arrogance Music factory" .This club is located in the Astera Hotel, in the center of the resort. It is interesting in that it has 4 halls with different types of music: the first is with electronic music, the second is retro, the third is a hall of pop-folk and ethnic music, and in the last hall, equipped with large leather sofas, there is a lounge. Each of the rooms has a bar, and the first three have a large dance floor.

There weren't many people in the club, which was again explained by the start of the season. But the cocktails at the bar are of very high quality, which allowed us to cheerfully dance until 3 am. In order to avoid being late for the bus departure in the morning, it was decided to go to bed. Moreover, we had a busy day ahead of us: a tour of the resorts Rusalka, Albena, an excursion to Balchik and Cape Kaliakra.

Albena

Started with Albena .

Albena is a beautiful, very green resort, 30 km from Varna. But entry into it is paid, that is, it is such a quiet, intimate resort. In my opinion, Albena is even too quiet and peaceful, just some kind of paradise for retirees. I would only recommend it to dead tired tourists. However, there is tourist infrastructure in Albena: restaurants, bars, swimming pools, etc. And around the resort itself you can travel by horse-drawn carriage. You can get to Varna by taxi.

But from Mermaids – another Bulgarian resort, 90 km northeast of Varna, there is really nowhere to go nearby. Which is probably not bad for those parents who send their children to the Rusalka vacation club - they can be sure that their children will not go on nightly exploits in the nearest town. But the nature here is of extraordinary beauty. For lovers of silence and solitude, Rusalka is just the thing!

Excursion to Cape Kaliakra

After lunch we were taken to Cape Kaliakra . The place is extraordinarily beautiful! Already upon approaching the site of the historical battle of the Russian-Turkish fleet, we witnessed a fantastic picture. The bus driver had just braked, making the entrance to the cape (or nose) of Kaliakra, and through the windows of the bus, on the steep banks, going beyond the horizon, rows of electric “windmills” were visible glistening in the sun. This is how they use the power of the wind, and the winds here are constant, converting it into electricity, without which it is impossible to imagine today’s world. The spectacle was so mesmerizing that our entire group clung to the windows of the bus and clicked cameras.

At the entrance to the cape, which, by the way, is the longest on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, we were greeted by a monument to the victorious naval commander Ushakov, erected in 2006. The cape itself is a golden-purple rock that cuts into the sea for 2 km. Sometimes it is so narrow that you can see the sea both to your right and left. According to a beautiful but sad legend, from one of the local rocks (and the height of the rocks in this place is at least 70 meters), 40 Bulgarian girls, fleeing Turkish slavery and desecration, sang their luxurious hair into one braid and threw themselves into the sea.

The sea here is not just blue, but in places emerald-aquamarine, of extraordinary beauty. This is confirmed by the name “kaliakra”, translated from Bulgarian as beautiful. Drawn by the guide, we went to explore the surroundings. The ruins of a Roman fortress, fortified by the Byzantines who replaced the Romans, followed by the Bulgarians, and then the Turks, are conveniently located on the cape.

Cape Kaliakra: beautiful and sad...

We were struck by a bright yellow Mercedes standing on the edge of a cliff. On the one hand, it contrasted greatly with the entire situation, and on the other, it emphasized the colors of nature, introducing its bright note into the landscape...

You can book a similar excursion here: Excursion to Cape Kaliakra. This trip will introduce you to the pearls of the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

Balchik

No matter how sorry it was to leave this memorable and beautiful place, there was something waiting for us ahead Balchik . This small resort town, immersed in greenery, is almost no different from many others scattered along the coast, and would not attract tourist crowds if not for the bottom of the bright sights of Balchik - botanical garden and residence of Queen Mary of Edinburgh of Romania (1921).

By order of the queen, Italian designers created a palace park, a chapel, and a summer residence. Shady alleys, streams with millstones, clay jugs from Morocco and, in fact, the queen’s castle with a minaret - all this pleases the eyes of tourists to this day.

After spending the rest of the day in such a stunningly romantic place, we returned to Golden Sands after dark and decided to go out for dinner somewhere. After a walk along the promenade, we found a nice restaurant and celebrated our farewell to Golden Sands there with a “modest” dinner. Everything was very tasty, and the portion sizes simply shocked us! I was also surprised by their low cost. So eating tasty and inexpensive food in Bulgaria is absolutely not a problem. And overall, after this day my opinion of Bulgaria clearly improved. It’s interesting to have a holiday in Bulgaria – let’s write it down that way.

Riviera

And the next day we left the hotel and headed towards another famous Bulgarian resort - Sunny Beach. But first we stopped at the southernmost part of Golden Sands, in an area called Riviera. The Riviera Holiday Club is located in a very beautiful place, among greenery, right on the beach. The former seat of government, today there are 5 hotels – Riviera Beach 5*, Oasis 5*, Lotos 4*, Imperial 5* And Nympha 3*. All of them are perfect for lovers of a relaxing holiday, who sometimes don’t mind going somewhere outside the hotel. And the nature of this place somehow reminded me of the Kemer region in Turkey, only there are no such high mountains.

First we stopped at sunny day , which is located 8 km south of Golden Sands. The day was indeed very sunny and (finally!) warm. Maybe that’s why this small resort seemed so cozy to us. However, excellent conditions for relaxation here are provided by nature itself - a small quiet bay, green park alleys, an excellent beach with a sandy, flat bottom.

And all this is complemented by good resort infrastructure. There is one five-star hotel on the territory of Sunny Day - PALACE, two “fours” - MIRAGE and MARINA, and one three-star hotel VERONIKA. All of them offer a high level of service and are located right on the seashore. Even a three-star hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, a children's playground, a wonderful bar and much more. Add to this two balneological SPA centers offering more than 100 types of modern procedures, and the largest casino in the Balkans with a variety show. Famous discos are also held here: “Dulcinea”, “Iceberg”, “Golden Apple”, and the summer theater annually hosts the festival of Bulgarian pop songs “Golden Orpheus”. The result is a resort ideal for a family holiday in Bulgaria.

Literally next door to Sunny Day there is another excellent resort place - St. Constantine and Helena . This resort complex is located 10 km from Varna and is located among a beautiful park. The resort's hotel base is quite decent - about 20 hotels from 2 to 5 stars. The hotels here have excellent, large and green areas (which again reminded me of Turkish Kemer), and the same stunning beach with golden sand. The resort has its own mineral springs, and treatment is based on them. Some hotels also have swimming pools with mineral water. In general, if you are traveling to Bulgaria with small children or are going to spend most of your time on the beach and swim in the emerald sea, and also plan to improve your health with water from mineral springs, then you will not find a better place.

Considering, again, the proximity to Varna, you can easily go there for shopping, and just like that (2 leva by bus, 15 leva by taxi). So I also confidently recommend this resort to discerning tourists who love good service and comfort.

Obzor Resort: for families with children

Having passed Varna, our bus headed south along the coast. And about an hour later we arrived at the resort village Review , which is located 60 km from Varna. Its population is only 4 thousand inhabitants. But it is immediately clear that Obzor as a resort is actively developing, new hotel complexes and boarding houses are being built, so the number of accommodation options is increasing every day. On line 1 there are modern hotel complexes: OBZOR BEACH RESORT 4*, RIU HELIOS BAY 4*, CLUB HOTEL MIRAMAR 4*, SOL LUNA BAY RESORT 4*, PARAIZO 3*. All of them can be recommended for a relaxing holiday with children, because have good infrastructure and operate on an all-inclusive basis (except for the last 2). But due to the inexpensive prices for Obzor hotels, it can be a good option for a budget holiday for any category of tourists, incl. youth or elderly people.

Sunny Black Sea Coast

Well, at the end of this busy day we got to our hotel at the resort sunny Beach .

The hotel sheltered us MERIDIAN 4*. It is located about 250 m from the sea, so the walk to the beach was postponed until the morning. But we were immediately invited to dinner in the main restaurant, which is located on the top floor of the hotel, and from it we had an excellent view of the entire resort. Dinner was very decent - a good selection of dishes, everything was delicious. And they gave us good rooms, so we immediately liked the hotel.

The same idyll was observed by elderly Germans on the hotel balcony opposite. And looking ahead, I will say that it was here, on Sunny Beach, that we met many foreign tourists - Germans, English, Poles. At all, Sunny Beach is a Bulgarian resort of international level I, tourists from all over the world come here with pleasure, including Europeans who are accustomed to a high level of service. A clean beach stretching over 8 kilometers, good quality hotels, plenty of entertainment for every taste, and prices lower than in Turkey or Cyprus make Sunny Beach so popular.

And in terms of the number of hotels, it ranks first among other resorts. There are more than 200 of them here. So examining them took us two whole days.

What I liked:

  • ROYAL PALACE HELENA SANDS 5*, ROYAL PALACE HELENA PARK 4* - an excellent hotel complex with a huge territory. But the price, especially at the height of the season, can be steep.
  • VICTORIA PALACE 5*— a hotel in a palace style, there are both rooms and apartments, not cheap;
  • MAJESTIC 4*-nice large area, active animation, evening shows, mini-club, in short, the hotel deserves 5 stars.
  • LTI NEPTUNE BEACH 4* - 1 line, good rooms, the main contingent is Germans;
  • CHAIKA BEACH RESORT 4*, but you can give all 5 stars;
  • ALBA 4*— the hotel is very good for 4*, located at the beginning of the city promenade, which can cause inconvenience due to crowd noise from the street, but if you ask for a room overlooking the courtyard, there will be no noise;
  • FENIX 4*— very affordable 4-way, 1 line (across the road), the contingent of vacationers are mainly foreigners, so I recommend it to those Russian tourists who do not like vacationing in the company of compatriots;
  • IMPERIAL 4* - a bit far from the center of Sunny Beach, but an excellent beach, a gorgeous view from the window and all-inclusive meals more than compensate for this.

We move on to 2-3 star hotels. These are mostly buildings built in the 70s and 80s. Therefore, their prices are very affordable. Although they may be located on the 1st line from the sea, sometimes this does not compensate for the old number of rooms. So, here we go:

  • Hotel KUBAN 3*— in the very center of nightlife, there is a water park next to it. Young people love it both for its location and for the water park.
  • POMORIE 3*— on the 1st line from the sea (across the road), modest but clean rooms;
  • SLAVYANSKI 3*- 1st line (across the promenade), good rooms and views from them. A hotel for everyone;
  • BAYKAL 3* - 2nd line, relatively new hotel (2004), rustic rooms. For any unassuming tourists;
  • ISOLA PARADISE 3* -5 line from the sea (really far away), but good rooms and all inclusive.
  • PLISKA 2*- good 2 stars. Remember a good Soviet sanatorium? This is who he is;
  • OREL 2*- already quite nondescript 2*. I won't send anyone there. But if you only need an option for an overnight stay, then “Eagle” may perhaps interest you;
  • CONTINENTAL 2*— I didn’t even go to look at the rooms, the lobby was enough for me. Built in 1970, a typical “soviet”, it looks like the camp site of my childhood.

In general, these are the recommendations for the Sunny Beach resort - do not look for a hotel closer to the sea, but look for a newer and more comfortable one. A walk to the sea is not a problem. Sunny Beach is a gently sloping town, and when walking to the sea you don’t have to go up or down the mountains, which is very important for many tourists, especially for those on vacation with children. The sea is gently sloping and shallow. The sandy beach is free, but you need to inquire specifically at your hotel about sunbeds and umbrellas.

In the evening, Sunny Beach becomes very lively: music can be heard from everywhere, numerous shops and benches are open, there are almost no empty seats in bars and restaurants - tourists love to taste Bulgarian cuisine and wines! In the center of Sunny Beach, perpendicular to the sea, there is a pedestrian street, which is a place for walks and meetings. Shops, restaurants, clubs, amusement park - it’s all presented on it, and you definitely won’t pass by it.

It was here, while walking in the evening and relaxing after visiting the hotels, that we met two Muscovite guys. They, having heard that we were speaking Russian, came up to us. As it turned out, over the previous 3 days they had hardly heard the Russian language here. We started talking. It turned out that they came to Bulgaria to buy real estate and every day they look at 5-6 options - villas, town houses, apartments.

- Oh, my head is already spinning from all these options! - they complained to us.

- Yes, we understand! We ourselves inspect 15-20 hotels a day! - we answered.

- Why do you need this - are you buying hotels, or what? - they were surprised.

- No, we are selling! “We are travel agents,” we answered proudly.

On this high note, we began to respect each other and decided to celebrate our acquaintance in a restaurant, of which there were plenty around. Over dinner, the guys told me that buying real estate in Bulgaria is practically a “must have” for their circle of acquaintances.

- All our friends already have villas or apartments here, but we still can’t get one! But we won’t leave without buying something - the prices and conditions here are very good! - they assured us.

The conversation about the advantages of Bulgaria as a permanent residence ended after midnight. The guys kindly escorted us to the hotel, trying, however, to persuade us to go with them to see the next Bulgarian villas the next day. But we refused - we had our own busy program. Nessebar and Sozopol were waiting for us.

Nessebar

Nessebar - a small but very picturesque town, located on one of the peninsulas very close to Sunny Beach, from which there is even a regular city bus.

Nessebar is a real pearl of Bulgaria, protected by UNESCO as a world natural and cultural heritage site. Nessebar can rightfully be called a museum city. After the typical architecture of Varna and the blocks of other resorts built up with multi-storey hotels, here the eyes of tourists receive real aesthetic pleasure! Book a tour Photo walk around Nessebar. This should stay in your photo archive!

A walk around Nessebar will not leave anyone indifferent! Wandering through the narrow streets, admiring the ancient houses against the backdrop of picturesque nature, and also enjoying the pleasant smell of vines and fruit trees, you will feel peace and lose track of time, as happened with us.

After Nessebar, I was simply filled with warm feelings for Bulgaria! Sitting in a small restaurant on the Nessebar embankment, drinking cool white wine and looking through the photographs taken, we unanimously admitted that Bulgaria has its own charm and charm, no matter how you look at it!

Sozopol

Sozopol - also one of those cozy little towns that immediately make tourists fall in love with them. This is one of the oldest and therefore most interesting places in Bulgaria.

The old part, located on the peninsula, is very beautiful: amazing wooden houses, mills and architectural monuments are in abundance here. Staying in one of the quiet small hotels here is the dream of any tourist. And in the new part of the resort there are also new modern hotels with all the amenities (air conditioning, satellite dishes, etc.), usually at the three and four star level. They are distinguished by optimal prices for accommodation, food and entertainment.

The two parts of the town are united by the presence of many taverns and bars, where you can taste the delights of Bulgarian cuisine and try world-famous real Bulgarian wines accompanied by traditional bagpipe tunes and national dances. They also call Sozopol a city of leisurely happiness . This is the definition we read in one of the local guidebooks that characterizes it most accurately.

And this definition is very accurate for all of Bulgaria as a whole.

Bulgaria is the most popular country among Russian buyers of foreign real estate. In 2013, more than 10 thousand of our compatriots purchased local real estate. The most popular apartments are on the country's Black Sea coast.

“Bulgaria’s seaside resorts are in demand for a variety of segments of the population. Young people prefer large, noisy resorts; they have almost no opportunity to buy housing. Young families as well as older people like calm and quiet places, but some prefer cities due to the availability of medical care, better infrastructure and the ability to rent out homes all year round. Some people prefer good apartments in large resorts (in gated complexes) for long-term stays or for renting out housing,” says Todor Stoyanov, financial director of Prime Property BG.

the site has compiled a list of the best resorts in Bulgaria for families with children and purchasing real estate. The rating is based on the following criteria: quality of beaches, infrastructure and attractions, level of safety, environmental conditions, cost of living and recreation.

Sveti Vlas: a quiet resort for families

Sveti Vlas is a coastal town located 40 km from Burgas International Airport and 6 km from Sunny Beach. “Sveti Vlas is an ideal place for a quiet, measured holiday with the whole family. It feels like home, the complexes are cozy, and accommodation is inexpensive. The only drawback is that there is little greenery at the resort,” says Alexander D., who vacationed in Sveti Vlas in the summer of 2013 with his wife and two children.

This area has a special microclimate: the air is enriched with iodine ions, a fresh breeze blows from the sea, the Stara Planina Mountains and the surrounding hills keep it cool during the summer heat. There are sunny days from May to September or a total of 70 days. Due to the combination of a mild climate and healthy air, many come to Sveti Vlas to treat their lungs.

All three beaches with a length of 1.5 km (Camping, Marina and Central) are marked with the Blue Flag. This award is given for environmental friendliness. The beaches are sandy, wide, free (money is taken only for sun loungers and umbrellas), with small bays convenient for swimming.

The tourist infrastructure of the resort is actively developing. Now there is a marina, shops and restaurants. Most streets are under video surveillance, so crime here is almost reduced to zero. Attractions include the Church of St. Andrew and the Temple of Athanasius the Great.

Some Bulgarian government officials have acquired houses in this town. Available real estate offers include apartments in hotel complexes, apartments and villas. Housing in Sveti Vlas is sold at prices from 22.6 thousand to 376 thousand euros. Apartment rental costs 25–55 euros per day.

Kranevo: an ideal holiday for children

“In the summer of 2012, we sent our children to the AquaLife water sports camp in the village of Kranevo. From June to July we rented a house there to live near our children. We enjoyed our vacation so much that in the future we plan to vacation only in Kranevo,” says Olga K.

From Kranevo to Varna Airport is about 30 minutes drive. Buses and minibuses also run regularly to Albena, Balchik, Dobrich and Golden Sands. All these resorts are nearby.

The beach in Kranevo is clean, with golden sand, 6 km long and up to 100 m wide. There are paid and free recreation areas. The seabed is flat, without dangerous currents or depth changes, so children can swim here without fear. Some tourists believe that Kranevo beach is the most convenient on the coast. The village also has mineral springs, which are used to treat various diseases.

Kranevo is a village, but it has all the infrastructure necessary for recreation: bars, discos, restaurants serving Bulgarian, Indian and Chinese cuisine, shops, hairdressers, a market and even children's attractions. On the beach you can rent catamarans, jet skis and windsurfing equipment. And yet, Kranevo is famous not for its nightlife, but for its quiet relaxation, so young people who are accustomed to noisy parties may find it boring here.

The resort has both hotels and a private sector. Prices for apartments in Kranevo range from 37 thousand to 80 thousand euros, for houses - from 62 thousand to 337 thousand.

Review: beautiful nature and warm sea

There are several beaches - sandy, pebble, concrete; one of them is marked with the Blue Flag. The sea is clean, warms up well, and the slope to the sea is gentle. However, not everyone likes the beaches in Pomorie: the sand has a gray-brown color due to its high iron content, in some places there are stones, and in the morning, sometimes, the current carries algae.

In the surrounding area there are salt lakes, the healing properties of the water in which were known to the Byzantines and Thracians. It was used to treat wounds, rheumatism and skin diseases. Since Pomorie is located at zero elevation above sea level, the area is swampy, and the mud also has healing properties.

The city is located in the middle of the plains, so you won’t see the greenery of the forests here. But there are many vineyards here. Pomorie is famous for the fact that on its outskirts there is a wine and cognac factory called Black Sea Gold. It is believed that cognac made from grapes grown on salty soil is of special quality.

The resort has many hotels, sanatoriums, cafes, an open-air cinema, museums, monasteries and churches, but there is little entertainment for young people. “Pomorie will appeal to those who value peace and do not like crowds of tourists. It seemed to us that there are very few foreign tourists here; mainly Bulgarians come here from other regions of the country,” says Elena K.

The old part of the city has many buildings with interesting architecture, located on narrow winding streets, while the new areas are dominated by modern houses ranging in height from two to four floors. Pomorie is considered one of the cheapest resorts in Bulgaria. Both food and housing are inexpensive here. Apartments in Pomorie can be purchased for prices starting from 20 thousand euros.

Mermaid: rare birds and protected places

Rusalka is the northernmost resort in Bulgaria. It is located 80 km from Varna and 50 km from Albena in the Tauk Liman nature reserve, which translated from Turkish means “chicken haven”: many species of rare birds nest in the reserve. Nearby is Cape Kaliakra - an archaeological and natural reserve with secluded coves, exotic caves and mineral springs. You can get to Rusalka by bus, minibus or taxi from Varna, as well as by water transport from Kavarna and Kaliakra.

Rusalka has both sandy and pebble beaches. The average sea water temperature is +24 °C. The swimming season lasts from May to September. In summer the air warms up to +28 °C, and only a fresh breeze from the sea brings coolness.

The complexes at the resort operate on an all-inclusive basis. On their territory there are dozens of tennis courts, a riding club, a fitness room, a sauna, discos and bars, and swimming pools with animation. Here you can play football, go scuba diving and ride a bike.

There are about 600 country houses available for rent in Rusalka, where tourists, mostly British and Germans, stay in the summer. The houses are equipped with air conditioning, telephones and televisions.

Primorsko: a haven for surfers and exotic nature

Primorsko is located in the Burgas region, near Sozopol and Tsarevo, at the foot of the Strandja Mountains. From here you can take a bus to Burgas, Pleven, Plovdiv, Sofia and Tsarevo.

The surrounding area of Primorsko is a protected area with pristine forests, rare plants and wild animals, as well as unusual rock formations. In the Ropotamo Nature Reserve, which covers an area of 1 thousand hectares, you can go hiking or boating on the river. Tourists also visit St. Thomas Island, where white water lilies grow and turtles live.

The resort has a clean beach 2 km long with fine sand. The northern beach is open to all winds, which is why it is chosen by surfers. The southern beach is calmer, it is reliably protected from the wind, there is a gentle shore and a warm sea. “We vacationed in Primorsko from July to August, it was very hot and sunny, but thanks to the dry air, high temperatures were easily tolerated,” says Alla B.

Primorsko is an affordable resort for the whole family. Hotels, goods and services are cheaper here than in other resorts in Bulgaria. Apartments in Primorsko are sold at prices from 20 thousand to 100 thousand euros, houses - from 95 thousand to 700 thousand euros.

Elenite: healthy air and all-inclusive system

Elenite is a resort located in a picturesque bay on the southern slopes of the Stara Planina mountains, 40 km from Burgas airport and a few minutes by bus from Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas. The resort was named “Elenite” (Bulgarian for “deer”) because deer live in the local forests.

In Elenite, iodized sea air is combined with the air of coniferous forests growing in the surrounding area, which creates a special microclimate that is beneficial for pulmonary patients. There is no sweltering heat here: the average air temperature in summer is about +28 °C. From May to October the water heats up to an average of +24 °C. Stara Planina Mountain protects the resort from northern winds.

This is a closed resort, and outsiders are not allowed into its territory. In Elenite there are several hotels and residential complexes with apartments located on the first line of the sea, along an 800 m long beach. There are many shops, benches, restaurants serving European and Bulgarian cuisine, bars, an outdoor seawater swimming pool, tennis courts, a yacht club , volleyball and football grounds, a fitness room, table tennis and billiards, a riding club, and a water park. The complex operates on an all-inclusive basis. The holiday is comfortable and inexpensive, meets European standards.

“Externally, Elenite reminded me of Ibiza - the same white villas with red tile roofs. Beautiful resort. But the entrance to the sea is inconvenient - the sand is strewn with stones, you can get hurt, and the beach seemed narrow to me,” says Svetlana S. from Kazan.

Prices for apartments in Elenite range from 35 thousand to 260 thousand euros.

Golden Sands: lots of tourists and discos until the morning

The Golden Sands resort is located in a national park 18 km northeast of Varna. There are bus connections to all coastal resorts.

There is a legend associated with the name of the resort. According to it, a long time ago, pirates buried a gold treasure somewhere on the coast, later they could not find it, and then this gold turned into fine-grained golden sand. Beaches of amazing yellow color, from 50 to 100 m wide, stretch along the northern coast for 3.5 km. The average air temperature in summer does not fall below +27 °C, and the water remains warm even at night.

“Golden Sands has a lot of entertainment and is a great place for young people. But for older people this is rather a disadvantage. We lived in a house on the first line of the sea, nearby discos were open until the morning, and because of the resting youth and loud music it was impossible to sleep. There are also a lot of tourists at the resort,” says Alexander Sh.

The resort has many attractions for adults and children, restaurants, discos, hotels, casinos, sports centers and amusement parks. Cultural attractions include the Chapel of St. John the Baptist and the 14th-century Aladzha rock monastery.

At the Ambassador balneological center, arthritis, arthrosis, bronchitis, neuroses, stress and chronic pharyngitis are treated using sea water, rich in salts and microelements, as well as healing mud and various types of medicinal plants.

Prices in Golden Sands restaurants are approximately twice as high as in Varna. Real estate is also not cheap: apartments with an area of 30–40 m² are sold for 30–40 thousand euros. Apartment rental costs 40–50 euros per day.

Kavarna: historical sights and rock concerts

The resort town of Kavarna is located 64 km from Varna, 49 km from Dobrich and 18 km from Balchik. From here there are buses to Bolgarevo, Balchik, Varna, Dobrich, Durankulak and Sofia.

The sandy beach is located about 2 km from the center of Kavarna and has a length of about 1.5 km. In summer, the air temperature varies from +22 to +30 °C, there is almost no rain - precipitation only falls closer to autumn.

Kavarna has cafes, snack bars, fish restaurants, an ethnographic museum, and many ruins of Roman villas and medieval churches. The city is famous for hosting the International Rock Fest every summer, where many world-famous performers have performed. Among them are Accept, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Glenn Hughes, Ronnie James Dio and Scorpions.

The city has a large selection of residential complexes with apartments. Prices range from 24 thousand to 350 thousand euros. A house can be purchased at a price from 60 thousand to 2 million euros. Rental housing costs 30–50 euros per day.

Lozenets: seafood cuisine and the cleanest sea

The fishing village of Lozenets, surrounded by greenery, is located in the Burgas region between the resort towns of Kiten and Tsarevo, 60 km south of Burgas. The sea and the proximity of the Strandja Mountains create a unique landscape here.

The village has more than 10 restaurants and bars where you can listen to music and taste different dishes from freshly caught fish: mussels, crabs, octopus, squid, shrimp, mackerel and much more. There are six sandy beaches: Babeshki, Coral, Oasis, Maly, Mechata Dupka and Central. Activities include surfing, fishing, horse riding, jet skiing, and, of course, swimming and sunbathing. According to scientific research, sea water in Lozenets is the cleanest on the entire Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It is rich in microelements - bromine, iodine, calcium and magnesium.

In summer it can be hot - up to +30 °C, but the heat is softened by a light fresh breeze blowing from the sea. Lozenets is protected from strong winds by the Strandja Mountains.

The resort is dominated by two- and three-story houses, many of which have been converted into small hotels. The low-rise buildings of the village are reminiscent of European suburbs. Apartments in Lozenets are sold at prices from 30 thousand to 300 thousand euros, houses - from 90 thousand to 400 thousand euros.

Sozopol: architectural monuments and bohemia

Sozopol is the oldest Bulgarian city on the Black Sea coast. The first settlement in these places arose in the Bronze Age - in the 4th–3rd millennium BC. e. The resort is located 34 km from Burgas, on a small peninsula that juts into the Black Sea. By bus you can reach Burgas, Kiten, Primorsko and Sofia.

There are three sandy beaches in Sozopol - Zlatna Ribka, Harmanite and Central. Harmanyte is awarded the Blue Flag. There are several campsites nearby - “Veselie”, “Gradina”, “Zlatna Ribka”, “Kavatsi” and “Smokinya”. The city has more than 600 restaurants, taverns, bars and discos. This is a museum city: there are many historical and architectural monuments of the 18th–19th centuries, beautiful churches, old white houses with red tile roofs and narrow cobbled streets. The special atmosphere of the resort attracts creative people - artists, musicians and painters.

It is hot in Sozopol in summer. From May to September, the air temperature is +27–33 °C, the water temperature is +25–28 °C.

Apartments in Sozopol cost from 27.5 thousand to 500 thousand euros, houses - from 100 thousand euros.

Balchik: magnificent park and bad beaches

Balchik is the third most important port in Bulgaria after Varna and Burgas. It is located close to Albena, Varna, Dobrich, Golden Sands and Kranevo.

In ancient times, buildings here were built from white limestone. The Roman poet Ovid, sailing past the city on a ship, wrote about what he saw: “I greet you, white-stone city, with your unique beauty.” Balchik remains a beautiful city to this day. The most picturesque place is the residence of the Romanian Queen Maria with a palace park in which there are about 200 species of trees, more than 3,000 rare and exotic plants, more than 250 species of cacti, the collection of which is the second largest after the collection of Monaco. Other attractions include churches, remains of the Temple of Cybele, medieval walls and stone fountains.

“I didn’t like the beaches in Balchik. There is no sandy beach area as such, people sunbathe wherever they can, even on the parapets,” says Olga L. Due to the fact that there are no good beaches in Balchik, this resort is not as popular as others. The other side of the coin is low prices for holidays in local hotels and restaurants.

Here you will find a yacht club with 60 yachts, a 20-hole golf course, nightclubs and bars. In general, Balchik is a calm and quiet resort where young people may get bored.

The sea water temperature is 2–3 °C lower than in the south of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. For many Balchik homeowners, landslides are a big problem.

Among the property owners in Balchik there are many English, Irish and Russians. Apartments cost from 40 thousand to 200 thousand euros. The average cost per square meter is 300 euros.

Tsarevo: a boring resort for a lazy holiday

Tsarevo is a small port city in the Burgas region, located on a peninsula with a heavily indented coastline. There is a bus connection with Ahtopol, Burgas and Malko Tarnovo.

There are more than 200 sunny days a year, the air temperature in the summer months ranges from +24 to 35 °C, the water temperature reaches +25 °C.

This is a quiet, relaxing resort, where there are no noisy discos and crowds of tourists. There are not many hotels, since this resort is not the most popular among foreigners. In addition to Russians, Germans and Norwegians vacation here. There are three picturesque beaches, regattas and surfing competitions are held here, and you can go spearfishing. 9 km from Tsarevo there is a private botanical garden “Raiskata Gradina” with more than 2,000 species of plants, including bananas, kiwi, magnolia and cacti. There are no historical values in Tsarevo, since most of the old buildings burned down during a fire in the 19th century.

Housing prices in Tsarevo start from 20 thousand euros.

Ravda: a relaxing holiday without the fuss

The seaside village of Ravda is located 30 km from Burgas Airport and 1.5 km from Nessebar. This is primarily a children's and youth resort with good sports facilities. Here you can surf, swim and water ski. The main advantage of Ravda is safety.

There are beaches in Ravda for every taste - both rocky and sandy. On the approach to the beach there are undeveloped areas. The vacation spots are protected from cold winds by rocky capes, making the climate here mild. Every summer, about 5,000 tourists vacation in the village, mainly from Germany, Macedonia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Most vacationers stay in small private hotels.

The village has shops, restaurants, entertainment complexes, a post office, an outpatient clinic, a fitness center and discos. However, active young people may find it boring here. On the outskirts of Ravda there are vineyards and melon fields, where you can buy watermelons and melons.

Ravda is one of the cheapest resorts in Bulgaria. You can rent a studio here for an average of 25 euros per day in the middle season. You can buy apartments for a price starting from 19 thousand euros.

Riviera: luxury hotels and luxury holidays

Riviera is a private resort located 14 km northeast of Varna, next to Golden Sands. It is surrounded by a magnificent park of 12 hectares and consists of several five-star hotels such as the Imperial, Lotus, Oasis and Riviera Beach. Local hotel rooms are some of the most expensive on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

The beach is located in a cozy cove, right behind it is a park with centuries-old trees. The Riviera has entertainment for every taste - from beach and water sports to get-togethers in bars, night discos, day excursions and animation. You can water ski and yacht, surf, fish, play tennis, and take bicycle rides. There are swimming pools with mineral water and healing springs that lead directly to the beaches.

The sea at the resort is clean and warm: the water warms up to +24 °C. It is hot in summer, but due to the light breeze and abundance of greenery the heat is almost not felt.

Varna: a major transport hub and a bustling resort with discos

Varna is the largest city in Northern Bulgaria and on the country's Black Sea coast. It is often called the “sea capital”, “summer capital”, “Bulgarian pearl” and “pearl of the Black Sea”. This is a major transport hub and a starting point for tourists coming to other resorts in the country. Flights from many major cities in Europe and Russia arrive here. Seasonal trains depart from Kyiv, Minsk and Moscow. There are ferry connections to Batumi and Istanbul.

The city has sandy beaches and hot springs with temperatures of +35–50 °C. Good beaches are located in the northern part of the city, including wild ones. In the center of Varna you can see the beach, separated from the rest of the city by a garden. In summer, the water temperature varies from +20 to +30 °C, and on hot days the sand on the beaches heats up to +65 °C. In September (“velvet season”), the sea, which has warmed up over the summer, is still quite warm, and there are fewer vacationers at this time than in July and August, since the school year begins.

Varna has many restaurants, cafes, museums, galleries, shops and nightclubs. There are Roman baths, churches, a large pedestrian area and a dolphinarium. Prices here are lower than Western European ones, but higher than at other resorts in Bulgaria.

A square meter in the city costs on average about 600 euros. Apartments and houses in Varna are sold at prices starting from 30 thousand euros. Rental costs from 25 euros per day.

Nessebar: city of churches

Nessebar is a beautiful, ancient city with a three-thousand-year history and a rich excursion program. There are about 50 churches here - more than in any other city in Bulgaria, many museums and various antiquities.

The nearest airport and train station are in Burgas. By sea you can reach Burgas, Sveti Vlas and Sunny Beach. Buses run from Burgas, Elenite and Sunny Beach.

The long coastline creates favorable conditions for the development of tourism. Nessebar is considered the largest tourist center on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The city has 730 hotels, almost 3,000 private residences with more than 155 thousand beds and over 3,500 catering establishments. Tourists often stay in ancient houses of past centuries, equipped with modern amenities.

The beach in Nessebar is small. The bottom is sandy, without cliffs, but in some places there are sharp stones. On the beach you can play volleyball, rent a scooter or yacht, hire an instructor for diving and windsurfing.

Since Nessebar is a popular tourist city visited by foreigners from all over the world, crime here is slightly higher than in other, quieter and smaller resorts.

“There are always a lot of tourists in Nessebar during the beach season. Fraudsters know this and take advantage of large crowds of people for their own purposes. I would advise you to keep a closer eye on wallets and valuables. It happens that foreigners are deceived at exchange offices,” warns Dimitar K., a local resident who works in the tourism industry.

Prices for goods and services in the city are higher than in other resorts. Apartments in Nessebar are for sale
for 27–65 thousand euros. Rental costs 50–160 euros per day.
